Aftermarket brake calipers with factory rotors?

The 13.7" front rotors fitted on my 335is are large enough for my needs, but would prefer a Brembo or StopTech 6-piston caliper.

Has anyone replaced the factory calipers/pads/lines with aftermarket units and kept their factory brake rotors?

I know for the E46, Stoptech made such a kit. I'm not sure if this is available for the E9x cars though.

It's more common to have the opposite setup: Factory calipers with upgraded rotors, lines and pads. Not quite as sexy visually, but probably safer from a bias standpoint (unless your replacement calipers have volume-matched pistons).

Correct, that's quite common. The assumption is that both Brembo and Stoptech have developed a replacement caliper with properly sized pistons to not affect the brake bias. Their replacement BBK's do so.

Are you solely looking for a visual upgrade? Or are you more concerned about actual performance gains?
