Any Barclays bank customers out there?

Not sure if you're aware, but they're offering picture debit cards (FOC).

Tried it myself, by uploading a random picture onto their site and got my new Visa card in less than a week. They have some of their designs if you don't have one.

Seems you can't have company logos, so those of you thinking they'll transfer a BMW or M badge (legitimate or clownage ), will be rejected. But good for getting a picture of loved ones, pets etc (assuming they're not in a compromising position ).

Pretty crap post, but just thought I would share...

Has been used in the USA for ages, never understood why they didn't offer the same in the UK. I have a couple of US credit cards for which I use personal pictures - best used to be cheques in the US which you could customise in similar fashion.

On a different note, some US card companies offer the picture of the card holder on the reverse - which I think is a better idea to combat fraud (but this too is fraught with danger).

I agree, I think the picture on a card (just like your driving licence etc) would have been a great idea to combat fraud when only a signature was required.

But the chip & pin concept has pretty much removed this in the UK now ,and shop assistants just don't handle cards any more (as it's all done by the customer). Surprised in a way how long it has taken the US and other counties to adopt this approach, whilst they may be classed as ahead in other areas; like the pictures/cheques etc.

I used to have an RBS debit card (here in the UK) with my picture on the back and my signature actually printed on the card before I got it.

Thought it was a great idea but for reasons unknown they stopped issuing them

Yeah ordered mine last week, and received it yesterday.

Is a good idea, quite like it especially as it's FOC!

I had it 1.5 years ago when Halifax offered it.
It is lovely to have your loved one on it. You get appraised by many store/ shop keepers about it.
