Angel Eyes for LCI xenons
hey all,
i'm sure this topic has been covered, but i'm in a predicament. What are the best angel eye bulbs (h8) I can get for less than 120? i'd like them to shine as white as possible for the price. I should point out I do not want to drill ANYTHING either. Please chime in! thanks |

I'm new here too bud but there is A LOT out there if you search.
I'd start here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335303 Couple points I've noticed from my reading over the last few days since picking up my car... $120 is a fairly small budget for a quality plug and play solution... You may succeed in finding something that will be white, but you'll barely notice them in the day light... To get something bright enough to see during the day you will need to up your budget. Ultimately however, I've learned that you shouldn't expect the same crazy bright rings that you see on the Post LCI Coupes... To do that will require setups from (I think Umnitza is the name) - that basically require replacing the rings altogether. These have draw backs of their own too. And since you dont even want to drill, I dont think this is the best option for you. Ultimately if you dont wanna search and want a quick answer I think you should up the budget and pick up the Lux H8 as I am. Seems to be very highly rated, totally plug and play, and produces awesome results. (within reasonable expectations) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483544 If you want what seems to be the best solution for the best result, I'm saving you some search time. This is the conclusion I came to. YMMV w/your own searches. Last edited by starbai; 11-23-2012 at 07:19 PM.. |

oh well thanks for the insight, but i'm really just trying to stay under the 120 dollar mark. Almost anything would look better than the regular halogen bulbs. I just don't want to order something and find out it's not quite plug and play. I was hoping the Cree bulbs from modmy3 would work out but i think someone mentioned something about drilling. perhaps the BMS?

I hear ya there, the factory yellow look is hideous.... I cannot wait for Lux to get mine to me.
But again as far as your options, this is the best place for you to start... its where I did: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335303 |

One thing I've learned when it comes to this car bud, is that you get what you pay for. Now I'm no snob when it comes to Mods, if you can do it DIY, and find cheaper alternatives that can do the job then more power to you (and the e9x community if you share it). I think what you have found may work for you since your biggest thing is just replacing the yellow.
Personally for me, my father just picked up a 2012 328i xdrive coupe, and everytime I see the front BRIGHT AS HECK rings, I drool. Now I know that the Lux H8 wont get me there, but from everything I've read its gonna get me as close as I can get without cracking open the light and changing the internals. I think we have different goals, and I dont think anything is wrong with yours. Just that I dont think what you're gonna get from those, in my experience from what I've read from hours of searching around this forum, will not get you what it is that I'm looking for. That being said, give it a shot, its $50, not gonna break the bank. (meaning well below your stated budget) Please let us know how it goes, I'd like to see if I ultimately ended up just throwing away the rest of the money getting the Lux H8's. |

We have done a lot of comparing to the "20W" angel eyes, similar to the ones linked above. We have found that they are not fused at all, have no reverse polarity protection, dont protect against EMI ( radio interference) and as well they dim to about 1/3 brightness when the headlights are on.
Our LUX H8 V3 angel eyes dont dim, are fully protected and dont create and EMI

We've had tons of positive feedback from our clients! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at any time. Just to clear up any confusion, our AEs do not dim when your headlights are on, they do have reverse polarity protection and they do not cause EMI. These are actual facts about OUR bulbs, not speculation on bulbs similar in design to ours. Have a great weekend, everyone! |
