Bmw e92 Audio Upgrade Opinions- base (6 speaker) system
Hi there!
First of all let me congratulate you all on this great forum. It´s been really helpful. I have been reading lots of posts but this is actually my first post. I need to upgrade my sound system on my 2010 e92 LCI which has the base (6 speaker system) I have read lots of great posts by Vp Electricity, Technic, and the awesome full install post by B33M3R. Still I have some doubts and I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I love the B33M3R post but I wanna keep all the elements stealth and not gonna do as much as he did. Basically my idea is to upgrade the amp, get a processor and upgrade the front speakers while also having an amp that will allow me latter on to add some earthquake subs underneath the seats. The amp will power the subs and the fronts and I will keep the back speakers OEM connected to HU. One of the problems is that here in Portugal (and Europe for that matter) some of these items are really expensive compared to the US and I´m trying to keep in a budget of like 1000€ for now. I have changed speakers on my cherokke Laredo before but Im no too confident to mess with my bimmer, but I think i´ll give it a try. Ok so I´m thinking of these options: Front speakers: Focal K2 Power 100 KRS (Will install the plastic trim as well for the tweeter as I dont have it) - 300€ 1: Processor JBL MS8 - 700€ Amp - Do I need a amp? I read the JBL has amp function as well. Is it enought to power the front speakers and subs? Sugestions? Or 2: Processor audison bit one - 425€ Amp - audisson srx5 or pionner pdx5 - 350€ I will be buying the technic harness as well and the 808Mguy’s Speaker Adaptor Rings (Where can I buy this anyone knows? I cant PM as this is my 1st post) So what you guys think? The problem money wise is the processor, wish the HU didnt have the problem of the equalized signal to compensate, but well... The JBL ms8 looks really good compared to the Bit one, but if I get that one I blow my budget and no money for an amp... Oh well. Thanks for this and sorry If I am repeating things already on the forum. I did not want to bother you with this but cant seem to make up my mind as I´m a newbie to all of this. I do music for a living so the sound on my car is really annoying me as I have 5k speakers on the studio (Focals and Klein Hummel BTW). Thanks for your help Filipe |

Hi talbani,
Yeah I was thinking 1000/1200 max and Ill do the install. U think it´s too little? I will add the subs later on but for now that would be it.

Dealer called me up couple hours ago saying there was a mistake in the pricing of the Focals (I thought it was cheap) So it´s now 500 for both.. This "simple" system is gonna cost me
Thinking about: Front Focal K2 Power 100 KRS Audison Bit One Audison SRX5 + Harness Totals something like 1500 Euro! Is it just me or is that really expensive? I did not buy the car new so no choice on extras.. But for 1.5k euros you can get some good active studio monitors.

Great system if you have $$$$$$$
Mmost expensive is the bit one though, have you consider getting a Alpine processor 660? Works great, few less options than bit one or wait for a bit ten, will be almost half the price compared to bit one wich is 900 bucks. Alpine is $250. Quote:

Hi Px82,
I am also in a very similar situation to you and am just about to buy the Audison Bit One – a/Tuning flexibility and b/private seller in the UK so getting it at a good price. I noticed you have the 6 spkr system and you’re looking for TECHNIC’s HARNESS? I have a Technic Harness for sale that would work for your set up and much cheaper than buying from the US. PM for me details – I’ll do you a VERY good price (I’m selling it as I have the basic set up so no use for the harness – it still comes in the original box too!) By the way, I just got back from Portugal this weekend – stayed at Vilamoura – it was beautiful! Someone is selling the Bit 10 D in the UK – not sure if it’s sold yet but could save you some money I would think... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=bIT+tEN My set up will be.. Focal KRS 100s + tweeter trims Audison Bit One Earthquake Subs (under seats). Infinity Reference 7541a 4 ch amp Technics Harness Speaker adaptors Earthquake Sub spacers PM me for the Harness – It’ll reach you quicker and be a lot cheaper – no Duty / import costs. |

Tell me any other package that upgrades all the speakers in the car for $520 Heck if you search enough, you can find the 10% off coupon on the net That's $470 for 11 speakers! Plus you don't need anything else Any other speaker is going to need mounting adapters or plugs to interface with the OEM plugs etc these are as easy as unscrew 3 screws, exchange speaker, and tighten the 3 screws

BSW will never disclose specific information on their drivers, frequency response or specs. so for $520, what are you getting? i'd rather spend a little extra money and know exactly whats getting installed in the car...

and 4 tweeters to replace all the existing tweeters i have the BSW speakers in my car and they sound damn good i've had the HIFI, Logic 7, and the MB Quart RUA-213 speakers the BSW sound better than all of them the midrange is much better, and they can handle more bass then the others the tweeters are also very good, very clear, and not harsh sounding at all would you feel better if you knew they were 50w RMS and 50-20,000? does that really make a difference to you? you get 30 days return policy, if you think they suck send them back can't say most other manufacturers give that and they have a 3 year warranty if they break, they replace them and they are the easiest speakers to install

one more thing
BMW does not show the specs of their speakers on their website either neither for Logic7/HK nor the Enhanced Premium System and most people don't have an issue with that and pay $875 or $1900 for those systems

Yes I agree the BSW package is the best way to go... not unless you have tons of money then go and spend it to a much expensive setup... I am merely giving OP a much cheaper option than spending his thousand euro + shipping etc... BSW is a good package... and if you go to their website you can find the specs of all the speaker you gonna get...

OP's budget is 1,000 euro (that is $1,500 US) ...
- BSW stage 1 package is $519.99 - BSW SubWoofer System is $729.99 - BSW amplifier upgrade is $699.99 So OP it is up to you to decide which is economical... I'm very sure you get a better package price if you get all 3 packages... Don't get me wrong I'm not hard selling BSW... I just think it is a good set-up for it's price... |

http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...es--M3-06-E9X/ ____________________________________ Imagine audio in your BMW so crystal clear in every detail, so powerful you can't come close to maximum volume, so alive that when you close your eyes, you'd swear you're at a concert. Now imagine it takes just 30 minutes to install, and you have the BSW Plug and Play Amplifier Upgrade. In another industry first, we've developed an amplifier upgrade that's a direct plug and play install and optimized for your exact model BMW equipped with our Stage 1 Audio Upgrade. (This upgrade is not compatible with factory BMW speakers). So what exactly does this upgrade mean in terms of improved audio performance? A clean signal so your enjoy your music in its full recorded glory: We've reduced the level of distortion our amplifier introduces to the audio signal by an average of 90% versus the factory amplifier (~10% THD vs. < 1% THD). We'd compare the difference to going from FM Radio to a CD. Much higher, distortion free volume limits so you can really rock out: By increasing power per channel from an average of 300% - 500% (~10-15 Watts RMS vs 50 Watts RMS), we've made your audio system capable of playing LOUDER without giving up even the tiniest bit of clarity or accuracy. More "lifelike" reproduction of music. So real, in fact, don't be surprised if you tear up. Because our amplifier is so much more powerful and has a significantly higher dampening factor than stock, the movements of your BMW's speakers are more accurately and tightly controlled, yielding lush details, more impactful midbass, balanced midrange, and nuanced highs like you've probably never experienced. How does it install? Simply. Your factory amplifier is completely removed. Depending on your vehicle's configuration, the amplifier will go directly where your factory amplifier went or be hidden in another convenient location in the trunk. We include a vehicle specific plug and play harness to connect the amplifier to the vehicle's audio system and required power and ground wires. It's so easy, even a total novice can do it. Total install time: 30 minutes - 1 hour. Total pleasure: immeasurable. Hard to believe? Don't. Try it for yourself, risk-free. We believe in our products and our work, and we know you'll be absolutely happy - so we guarantee it. The BSW PnP Amp Upgrade will make you happy. We're so sure of it that we offer a 30 day period from the day you receive your purchase to listen to and enjoy your new setup. If you're not happy, return the product in like-new condition, and we'll issue a full refund (less shipping & handling). |
