What does this switch do??????

Ok I have gone through this forum and my owners manual as well as google and can not find anything out about. It is located just under the center console lid on the drivers side.

I have no Idea. Car was bone stock I thought when I got it. Until yesterday I thought it had something to do with cooled drink holder in the center console.

Probably not OEM. Unless you can see any easily observable effect from that switch, tracing the wires would be the only way to find out.

Old couple hmm, Im betting underbody Neon and NAWSSS. It could be anything from additional fog or reverse lamps, to a charger for an oxygen system. Trace the wires.

That looks like a fairly typical aftermarket accessory rocker switch. I know nothing about such things, but BAL278's suggestion is quite possible (albeit odd given whom you bought from). Check http://burgertuning.com/meth.html and see if you find anything familiar.

OK I guess I will trace the wires this weekend. Now I am really curious as what it is. Like I said It was one owner car with CPO when I bought it. It has factory fogs and I do not see anything extra when compared to other 335i that are the same year. I don't think it could be for aftermarket stereo since it has Idrive.

Yes, It is in the center console. Keeps beer and other cans cold. I think BMW quit putting this feature in them around 09.

I had a switch like in my other car to run my fan at the track manually while the car is sitting in line and the engine is off... maybe those old timers hit the track every now and then

I like to go fast too. If the car did have a meth and tune I wish they would have left it there.

Odds are I find the wires lead to the ceiling where they had giant map light or fan.
