When you have them nice and clean get some 'Poorboys Wheel Sealent' on them to protect. This stuff goes off really quickly so it's one wheel at a time job - less is more with a few thin cotes until you get bored.

Yep I do that Pete,it's a bugger to put on though, what do you use to apply it?

Just a foam applicator but they get your fingers after a while. I have a couple of these so I may try one next time (they might be a bit big but I think they might be easier as you have more to hold onto) and then just buff off with a cloth.

I bought some last week HC together with the tyre gel, which impressed me, love the way the wheel cleaner works and smells, reminds me of perming lotion, not sure why that should excite me.

One thing I find works well on alloys and is not aggresive on the lacquer is Fairy Power Spray. Spray it on and leave if for a few minutes. By the time you've set the hose up the brake dust just washes off. Try it - it might surprise you and it's much cheaper than the 'proper' stuff. If it doesn't work for you, give it to the missus as a present.
