Inb4 the that's what she said jokes.

OP, what do you mean by "spirited drive"? Did you drive it at high speed, power slides or doughnuts? Being more specific might help people identify the cause of the noise.

Let the person you're holding hostage in your trunk out.

i do notice it more when steering hard but that sound is sorta normal right? and it doesnt just happen when steering..i hear it mainly when i rev the engine at low rpm's and it changes with the pitch of the engine so i dont know

not rlly at a high speed, and definitely not doughnuts or power slides...just pedal to the floor till like beginning of 4th gear...more or less from stop to like 80 kmh..but this is a bmw for crying out loud not some honda...its built to be a performance machine right?

I hear the same sound but quieter and the car doesn`t even have 1,000 miles. I can hear it only at low revs (~1500rpm) no matter what gear (heard it even in 4th). Can hear it also in 2nd gear at 700rpm! Mine seems like it`s coming from the back..
Does anyone have any idea where this could be coming from? (can hear it only while rolling and it`s not tyre rolling sound)

i didn't listen to it, but symptoms sound like a belt of some sort. certain belts are susceptible to both engine speed and steering wheel turning.

I'm guessing accessory of some kind - water pump or alternator.

Power steering pump is what it sounds like to me. If you've ever owned a ford, 80's - 90's (not sure if they still do it now) you can tell it's a ford by the moaning of the power steering pump. Fords are notorious for that noise. Doesn't mean it's broken or anything, but it's a hydraulic pump, and pumps tend to whine. I wouldn't worry about it to much unless it starts getting worse, or other issues start to come up. Just my .02. I've had lots o' fords!!!

Oh look... Another abandoned thread. I'm so sick of kids posting an issue about their car and never providing additional info or a solution. Mods should make this a rule and hand out the ban stick.
