Sorry for the delay but I've been busy elsewhere.
Here's some pics that I took from behind. I think I hid the lines pretty well. There's also no way that the white vacuum line would have curved like this. That line is so hard it most likely would have kinked.

All of the wires are hidden. What you see in the pics above is the only place you see wires. Pics wouldn't show you anything.

Very nice! I like the look and the placement. If it was an electric gauge I would have tried that. How did you route the vac line through the dash?

Which size gauge is yours? And is that the "Mk4 NoBuzz Boost Tubing Kit"?

There's a cover on the side of the dash that you will see when you open the door. Take that cover off and you will see how to route the wires through the sapce. I took the under cover off too ( the cover that's above the cutch and brake pedal). When you take that cover off you will see a whole bunch of wires going through the firewall. There's one rubber nipple that isn't used so I cut a small hole in that nipple and routed the vacuum line through that. I then took off the cabin filter and the black cabin filter holder to get to the vacuum line inside the engine compartment. The rubber nipple that you routed the vacuum line through is driectly behind the master cylinder. Once you get a hold of the vacuum line then hook it up to the DV.

Looks like this gauge matches the stock display very nicely. I think I might dump my VDO gauge and pick up one of these at that price.

The grey with a red tracer wire's go all over the car, It's called the KL58g signal in BMW terms, but it's just the interior lighting circuit. BTW, the KL58g circuit has been grey with a red tracer in every BMW car I've ever worked on.
Gauge looks nice too. Good stuff.

Update:
I was thinking about getting a visor with this only to deflect a bit of the sun. I can still see the gauge perfectly but the visor would help a bit more.

It would be so hard to read over there and it would take your eyes away from the road. It doesn't sound safe to me but maybe you've had it like that before with no problems. Whatever floats your boat.

I purchased a mounting cup from Automemter where I only used the cup. I then bought a 2" stainless steel muffler clamp from Autozone for aproximately $4 and painted it flat black. I then stuck everything together and mounted it with heavy duty double sided tape. It took me a while to come up with a good mounting bracket. I finally came up with something I like.

Thanks man! I was just thinking about exhaust mounts and was wondering if it would look good. Before it was painted it looked horrible.
