Hey Airboy .. I presume you are from Airboytuning.com .. any special 'forum' rates for a dyno session? And how does your dyno compare to a Dynojet?

A heat gun will definitely push a lot more heat Even one of those cheap 20$ things from Canadian Tire.

Sorry for the NEWB question, but what does AFR stand for or mean when it comes to tuning bmw's?

On a side note, welcome aboard! Great to see new members pop up in Calgary and Alberta.
* Just an update, I cancelled my AR DP order, just can't afford FMIC and DP's this summer.. * I'm still deleting the secondary cats and mufflers so it should still sound ridiculously loud! its only a few hundred o well worth the compromise.

I'm running 93 V2.02 again myself, it just has so much more power then 91 octane and I'm starting to get better fuel economy when I stay off the gas! Not to mention it pulls on a JB4 map 4! :P haha Only above 150km though.

Can't wait to straight pipe my exhaust, man o man!!

That would be me Dyno Dynamics reads lower than a DynoJet. I don't have a direct comparison with a sample car in Calgary though. Rates are posted on my site. Maybe send me a pm...don't want to "spam" the forum too much.

Wife came home earlier than I expected, so I managed to free myself from fatherhood responsibilities, and decided to have a cruise around, in and out of the city tonight .. what a beautiful evening I was so chilled out I hardly felt the need to go WOT.

All sorts out tonight .. Mustangs (well they are always out .. must be the most common car in Calgary!), Infinitis (second most common), those GM transformer bumblebee cars .. C6 .. and so on.

So please register your interest for a summer cruise out to Bragg Creek, Canmore or somewhere .. if there is enough interest, I may step up and organize something. Of course, CPI, I'll need your guidance since you are veteran at these things

Edit .. and if anybody is interested in a dyno session, maybe a few of us could book Airboy's dyno for an afternoon -- rates look reasonable on the website. I'm quite interested in dynoing my car stock (JB4 bypass), JB4, and JB4+meth.

i'd definitely be interested in a cruise

i might also be interested in the dyno session but not sure if its really worth it cuz i'm stock n airboy has already put up stock dyno numbers for an '09 335.

* man, I gota start going on random cruises and see cars to race lol *

I am finally putting the finishing touches on my ride this summer!! As noted, I'm waiting on DP and FMIC, just can't afford it yet... However I will give my car the exhaust note I'm looking for, as well as a neat face lift! My thread can be seen here

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...77#post9624477

Deleting Secondary Cat's, Deleting resinator, Deleting mufflers.
2.5" stainless steel piping all the way back as well as 4.5" Black Chrome tips!

Its going to sound ridiculous... You'll be able to spot my car a mile away haha.

You're in for a summer cruise out to the mountains, right? Be good if we could get a few cars together .. nice drive out there, spot of BBQ for lunch .. etc

As for racing .. yes, it's hard work. It seems too many people have been burned by 335i's, and try to avoid confrontation .. ha ha. Trucks are normally game, but they are way too easy... and I've yet to find one of those serious 12 second trucks that apparently exist.

I tried to tempt a mazdaspeed6 today, by blowing away from him at the lights .. but he didn't want to know. I even slowed right down, but he slowly cruised passed me without even looking. Never mind.

Wow.. that sucks man! I have only come across that SRT Jeep so far. When I get this exhaust... There will be plenty of people wanting to race haha.

I'm game for a cruise to the mountains any time! Provided I can find a Husky gas station out there to refill with 94 octane! Otherwise I'll have to drive back with a different tune lol

Even if we went all the way to Lake Louise, you'd still be able to go there and back on one tank .. it's only 187km each way.. that's assuming it really was a cruise, and not a mini cannonball run .. LOL

OK Guys -- I've created a 'feeler' thread for the summer cruise .. please post your interest in that thread! Cheers.

Nice Vader! You're getting a fair bit of hate in that thread though .. that's why I normally avoid the tuner forum on this site Your loss of power at low RPM might be due to lower back pressure with straight pipes... ?

Got my RX65 radar detector today .. it actually arrived yesterday, but the mail man left a note on the door.. super fast shipping from Visions .. 2 business days.

Plugged it in, and it did .. nothing .. same in other lighter socket. Put on the multimeter, and found they were both totally dead. (I've never used the sockets since I've had the car) .. checked fuse panel, and yup .. blown fuse. Ripped a same amp fuse out of a slot that was not charted, and now works beautifully! Nothing else appears to have stopped working, so I presume it was a spare. Will probably hard-wire it when I get a chance.

Makes lots of cool beeps and noises on power up .. bright red display too. Not had a chance to test it on the road yet, since I've had a few beers, and don't dui ..

Meh, don't let those guys get to you man. I'm happy to show my exhaust on the site.

for 1,000 bucks I feel it sounds a hell of a lot better then a 3K exhaust!
It sounds insane, and if I pop it into M1 mode and manually shift, I can take off form a set of lights going the same speed as everyone else, yet once my car reaches 3K, then 4K then 5K before I shift it is LOUD, Crazy loud and high pitched just like a race car lmao... I may drive differently now just to show off my beautiful beautiful exhaust.

Glad to hear you sorted out your Radar detector! Definitely hardwire it, you noticed where I installed and hardwired mine right!?

We can meet this weekend if I get a chance, all my plans were cancelled as my buddy is now going camping so I may stay in and study 5 or 6 hours each day if the weather is bad. We shall se!

Yeah - let's see what happens with the weather ... I'd like to produce a good video of your car & exhaust to put on Youtube, but if it's raining, it'll make life difficult.

Stupid rain.

I'm going to do some final planning on my meth kit this weekend, too. I'll probably rip a few things apart in the engine bay to see where a good place for pump/tank is. If I fail, I may just go trunk mount.. I may even go without a failsafe for now, and keep the PSI low enough to not cause damage if it breaks.. hopefully my spacers & dual cone intake will have arrived from BMS, so I'll have an excuse to start taking things apart

Have you worked on cars before? Where did you learn how to do this stuff yourself.

I'm not a car person, but I like to pull things apart

I'm quite willing to accept the consequences if I blow something up.

I used to install car stereos & alarms when I was 16.. but that's a long time ago.
