when I say smoothing, it is just in the dyno graph viewing software. All the different kinds of software have smoothing you can apply, that's all you're seeing here

It will only be available with a 6-spd manny tranny (no DCT) and will have the so-called N54 B30 Overboost motor -- as is currently installed in the Z4 sDrive 35is. The N54 installed in the 335is does not have the overboost feature.
Are you sure about that. I'm almost certain the 335is has the over boost feature. I think the Z4 has more hp because of a freer flowing exhaust.

Cobb Team: on the topic of the 335is, will the accessport support the 2011 335is (I'm talking about the one with the n54 not 335i's with n55s)?
Thanks

Any idea on ETA for both "XI" cars as well as 2007's?

I'm sure you guys are working around the clock, but as I'm sure you already know, there are plenty of people out there like myself that have cash in hand and can't wait to pick up an AP!

If only I didn't own a 2007 335xi, I would have already forked over my hard earned cash without question

In the meantime, I suppose it's time to uninstall the JB3 and put it up for sale...

Whoa there cowboy... the primary reason that JB has sold so many of these is still there... Cheap as hell. There's still a market for that I believe.

Hell, there are still people buying JB+!!!!!!!

:facepalm <- I wish there was an icon for that.

Also, my spidey sense is telling me that both our comments will be deleted soon.

Damn, you're right!

Both the Z4 35is and the 335is have overboost.

I appreciate the correction and edited my original post to reflect it.

My friend was able to sell his a couple weeks ago rather quickly after getting a flash and had numerous offers. Just have to put an attractive price. There is always a market for everything. Even on this site.

Eitherway, I will place my order the moment this is available for XIs.
What seems to end up happening is Cobb issues a series of standard maps that tie to typical mod paths, off the shelf, and they regularly (at least in the beginning) update them and optimize them, safely getting more power as they advance their database of tuned cars and experience. I think we're looking at a very conservative run and tune on these first pass base maps. The stage 1 maps will eventually become better and better (and if you own an AP, you'll be able to download them and update as they are releaseD).

Additionally, people who custom tune are able toshare their maps with other people with similar mods (obviously at the borrower's own risk - as it isn't a blessed Cobb off-the-shelf tune). After not too long, there will be a map for tons of combinations based on lots of peoples unique circumstances and specific mod/tune combos.

You guys were awesome on the suby forums. Totally transformed the tuning climate. Looking forward to doing business with you.

After a year, there were so many damned maps being passed around, it was head-spinningly awesome.

Now get us those xi maps!

Cobb: can you work on the maps with logs taken from the accessport and sent to you? What would be the timeframe to get a map lets say for upped turbos after receiving logs?

Any professional tuner will be able to work with datalogs captured by the AccessPORT. As with our other platforms, we offer the AccessPORT and will offer the AccessTUNER Professional software so tuning facilities can generate custom calibrations for their customers. For vehicles such as yours with a particular custom part combination, it makes sense to have a calibrator/tuner hands-on with the vehicle on a load-based chassis dyno to evolve a custom calibration.

It will depend on how restrictive the stock DP design is. The objective of a Stage2 (S2) calibration is to take further advantage of a higher flowing exhaust system. The BMW includes several different platforms and each will need to be independently tested to see where the restrictions exist and what performance hardware is most effective.

Correct, the data is recorded in a raw fashion (high data rate), the you can ask the Mustang software to smooth the data as you wish. We, being engineers, try not to use smoothing too much because it can hide various indicators (boost spikes, high EGTs, detonation, flow restrictions, etc.).

The higher resolution data and higher sample rates = the better IMO.

Christian.

SennaZ,

The online store "Buy" links were turned on yesterday. They are located on these pages:

BMW 135i
BMW 335i
BMW 535i

Let me know if you are still having issues. If so, if you could share the link with me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Gary

+38whp on the 135i? That is completely disappointing, even for a stg1 tune.

It's still over 60tq added (20% increase, for just plugging something in). Plus, look at that big fat curve. The power was added all the way across the RPM band.

That's going to pull like a motherf*cker. Torque is what moves your car, and I think scoffing at 350torque to the wheels is pretty silly. It's like strapping a rocket onto a miata.

Plus, as more 1 series are tuned, expect more optimization to be issued on future maps. This is just the first crack.
