Thumbs down Difeo BMW Dealership sucks

Just a FYI, DO NOT GO TO DIFEO BMW for ANYTHING!

Sales are horrible and service is just scamming customers. I don't know how they train their staff but the attitude and manners are just horrific. I wish I didn't buy the car from them nor take it back for them to even touch it.

Sales: This guy is unbelievable. Talking down on the customer and also because I'm younger than this mofo, he can just talk to me like a kid. When I ordered my car, I had every single option checked. But he later on called me and mentioned that the 19" wheel option was not available. I asked him to make the amendment on the sales invoice and of course, he'd say he'll "take care of that". Sure enough, when I come into to pick up the car, and check the numbers, the $1000 option was still there but only he hid all the option prices and just had a total. Since I had a number in my mind and the number he told me to write on the check was more so when i inspected, he didn't update the invoice and almost charged me for the option that was never added onto the car. We'd also negotiated that car alarm would be installed and was on the sales invoice but of course, the car had no alarm. When I questioned about it, he just said that the car doesn't come with an alarm. But good thing I GOT IT IN WRITING!!! So the night of delivery, I took my car home, I saw lots of paint defects (sand in the paint).

So I scheduled an appointment for them to installed the missing alarm and also for them to buff out the paint defects. And here comes the service dept....

Service: First they told me that I'll be getting a BMW as a loaner, but later on, I was given a Toyota Prius from Enterprise. The car is great and fun as well so I didn't mind. I thought for just the weekend, I don't mind getting the extra insurance ($25/day) since I'll be returning it on Monday. We noted the issues and said that the car will be done by Monday. (Keep in mind I dropped it off on Saturday morning). Among the items needed to be taken care of, I brought foot pedals and valentine one hardwire for them to install. The tech came and looked at it, and he said everything that's on the list would take 2 hours to take care. That made sense because hardwiring only takes 30 minutes or less. But the service advisor wrote "$260 for V1 hardwire". So I questioned him about why is it $260? Didn't he just say 2 hours for EVERYTHING?! He then tells me that was for internal billing purposes so I stopped asking. But then when I called in on Monday, they didn't even started working on the car!! Then today, at 11:45am, he calls me finally. Everything is installed but the car is with the detailing guy, working on the paint defects. That's fine but then he asks me to pay $260 + tax. I told him "didn't you say that was for internal purposes? You said that everything was covered by the sales when I asked you on Saturday". He denies everything and just told me to pay $200 + tax. He also said that if I don't pay it now, I can't get my car tonight. Honestly, $200 is nothing to me but I really do hope that these people will loose their jobs in the future. This is not customer service and I will for sure give them all "1". I'm extremely dissatisfied with my $58k purchase and definitely will NEVER give them ANY more transactions in my LIFE!

Sorry for the unpolished grammar but I'm just so pissed right now that I need to tell you all about what I had to put through in the last week ever since I gave them my check on 11/23/07.

I hate Difeo. Stopped by there and wasn't impressed with the deal or the service at all.

I ended up going up to NY (Pace BMW in Mamaroneck) because their dealership fees are much less than anything I got in NJ and the overall deal was awesome.

alright...so this is what "Michael Ehrlich" the sales guy told me today on the phone....and these are quotes from the call today when he probably read somewhere that I said they belong to a Hyundai dealership (they should but that's an insult to Hyundai)

"you're just a kid"
"I make more money than you than you'll see in your life"

it's funny because im pretty sure i'm more well off than this mofo (considering his language, manner, and IQ/EQ) but that's besides the point. Keeps telling people that he's from the wall st. and that he wants to buy up Difeo BMW so that's why he's working as a sales.

I urge people not to do business with him. The dealership itself is okay, but not the best. His manager tried to make things better but instead of giving me $260 back, he gave me $60 back. If I had to buy another car, I'd definitely would not go back to them ever again. And be assured that "1"'s are in order. I'll also file a complaint via BBB and also BMW NA when I have time. Just the time these mofos wasted me cost more than they charge!

all this over $100 saved on initial price..I would have backed off to Ryan or even come out to my boys here to get you a car...they wouldnt have been able to give you that same deal, but the customer service is crazy here. Hassel did suck a lot for beginner techs, but they have the highest CSI in the tristate I think, or the 10 closest dealerships...97.9% customer satisfaction...

You may be just a kid, but your money is just as green as an AARP'er. That's ridiculous. Let the GM know and go up the chain. It wouldn't surprise me (literally) if the 58k you paid is more than the salesperson makes in a year. Usually, when someone hates their job, they'll lash out at whom they perceive to be the weak. He probably has Wall Streeters walk up and down and all over him all day every day and is sick and tired of the job his GED landed him....

I've had a good experience with Adriena Masi so far. Her quote was high at first but once I told her what I got at another delare that was significantly less, she beat it.

what do you expect from a car dealer located in NJ? People from NJ are bad enough, but car salesman from NJ = as shady and annoying as they come.

* No offense to any nice NJ people

Desperate times for DiFeo BMW call for desperate measures.

I was a loyal customer of BMW Difeo. 3rd BMW in 2 years.Came down from Florida on my 40th Birthday to give myself a present (sports car). Told the sales person that I was looking for a great deal in February for a convertable and am willing to take a 2007 model. Bought a brand new (as I was told ) BMW MZ4 Roadster. Fully paid cash for the deal and thought I was getting a great deal!LOL. I mentioned to the sales rep that it had some scratches on it and asked why?? She said oh it must have been from moving it to the show room. I should have been more suspicious than. When I was called to pick up the car I had to higher a driver as I was planning to leave to Florida right from the dealers ship. When I arrived not only the scratches were not fixed, but, I found additional scratches that were much deeper and could not be buffered. I had to stay additional 2 days while they fixed the problem. When I came back the second time to pick up the car, as I was given instruction the sales rep realized that their SOS and service button did not work. I had to wait an additional 4 hours with the driver as I was once again being delayed again. But this is not the worse of it. Wait till you hear what came next!!

The ride to Florida was not bad, accept I could not find a way to adjust the steering wheel. Than I started noticing on arrival some very worn seating parts and various cosmetic damages to the car??? I started cleaning the car out and guess what I found by accident??

DISPLAY VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT

two of them.

First report listing the car going to NY Auto show in April 2007 with no damages and the second with a bunch of listed damages some which included side panel scratches , scuffed door panel, scratches underneath door panel , broken steering wheel tilt lever etc.

When I send that info and told them that they not only sold my a damaged car, they failed to state Material Facts about it. Thank God I found this info and have solid proof of being defrauded. I wrote and send them an email. I did not have a written reply to date. I spoke on the phone with them several times and even had a lawyer send a letter to them. Still they blew me off and did not reply in writing back to the lawyer. I am going to launch a law suit against these crooks and hopefully will get some media coverage as well. Wish me luck!! I am sure the law is on my side!

E90 fanatic,

Difeo is part of United Auto Group. Which is a dealer network owned by ROger Penske. You can go to their website to to make a complaint and go up their corporate ladder. They are very responsive to customers. A friend of mine runs their Ferrari store here in NJ.

Let me know if you dont get anywhere and I can hook you up.

And you know this living in ohio?? how many cars have you purchased in NJ?

Ive been in sales and sales managment for 12 years at the same place, which is known to have the best customer service in the COUNTRY. Look us up....

www.raycatena.com

To make a statement like that is ignorant and discriminitory. Would it be fair if I said that all people from OH are hicks or hillbillies?? No because thats a generalization, and I couldnt make it because I only know 3-4 people from OH.

So think before you say something like that. There are good and bad in every state, every car manufacturer, every race, and every walk of life.

I agree. Difeo sucks. They charged me for tire service they failed to performed - but were supposed to perform. I called them out on it right away. After waiting for another hour I realize they forgot to tighten some wheel bolts, which I THANKFULLY checked out (before driving off) from sheer paranoia after spending all day looking at those morons TRY to perform basic maintenance on my car. I went mental on their service manager, who then put on some gloves and [EDIT] tightened the wheel bolts [EDIT] in his dress cloths because the techs left for the day! TIMM-EHHH!!!!
