Looking for a good independent BMW mechanic
I'm up in the San Fernando Valley, more so Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks area, and I'm in need of a good independent mechanic or shop specializing in BMW's. Right now I'm getting hosed from Bob Smith to replace the hoses on the car, and even though my car is already there, I'd want to take it somewhere else next time I need a good service.

If you wanted to come north over the hill to Oxnard, there is one right on the corner of my block, just off 101. I can't remember the name right now, but after my maintenance is done that's where I'm going. They are a german specialist: BMW, MBZ, Audi. I can get teh name/number if you want to come all the way up here.

I take my old BMWs to Mueller Motor Service by Main St. and Huntington Dr in Alhambra. Great service and veryyy inexpensive. Been getting my car's serviced by them for about 8 yrs. The M Shop is the BIGGEST rip off ever. Took my car there about 4-5 yrs ago and they quoted me around $500 just to fix an oil leak and gave me a bunch of BS, basically quoted me around $5,000 for replacing worn things like thrust arm bushings and other crap (still haven't replaced thrust arm bushings and car is fine). My 94 e36 isn't even worth $5,000 Took car to Mueller Motor's and got the leak fixed for around $50. Also had transmission problem with car and got the transmission rebuilt by them for $2,000 while average cost would be $4,000+. |
