do i need new o2 when on jb4

Hello, I'm on jb4 and only mod is afe intake. I'm doing bms downpipe and saw that both my lambda sensors are black. My car starts up and the idle is hunting around. Once warmed the car idles fine. This is before my dp install. I haven't completed install yet because I'm not sure if I need good working o2 sensors. On jack stands as I'm typing.

so my question is, if I turn on auto clear on my jb4 stage 2 will I still need good working lambda o2 sensor?

I didn't a search on this forum but didn't find a clear answer.

thanks

You should get working 02 sensors because it's throwing off your mix which is giving you the crappy idle and in my experience worse gas mileage.

The JB4 will clear the code when it's triggered but it will not always be triggered. After clearing it will not be triggered again until a hard-ish acceleration when the pressure builds in the DP. If you have working 02 sensors, or put the 02 sensor spacer/minicat on the downstream (after catalytic converter) then your idle will be much more smooth
