Well...As it turns out my 335i coupe step with metallic space gray paint, prem, sport just went up $750 altogether. Good thing I'm picking it up next week.

Does the price increase affect people who ordered in April and pick up in June?

Definately due to our weak dollar. While its not pleasant to see a price increase for BMW, Toyota is raising its prices this month also. I think that it was like 1% as well. The fact that you have to pay more for a Toyota would probably hurt more than paying for a BMW since it is a luxury good. Hmm, should have studied macroecon better in college..lol.

I'm actually glad the prices are increasing. I want to see less of them around.

The increases are still quite reasonable especially given the value of the dollar. I was pricing the 1-series here the other day and was shocked to find that a loaded 135i convertible is a tad bit more expensive in Canada than a loaded M3 sedan in the US.

yes, weak dollar. They have to increase prices just to regain their eroding profit margin.

if i placed my order back in april, but have not confirmed an actual deal or selling price, will i have to deal with the price increases when my car arrives in June or did I order in time to avoid them?

Haha.. true.., but with financing, almost anyone with a decent job can swing a 3 series.

Our economy isn't Germany's economy, with the weak dollar even Toyota's prices are set to increase as well.

yeah weak dollar. BMW profit (and all the importers) is hurting from doing business in the U.S. Domestics however don't really have the opportunity to step up due to the slow economy and high fuel price.

Actually, the Toyota will hold more of its value, so I don't see the logic in your argument...

Unless you are saying that people buying a BMW can eat the extra cost? An extra $200 on a Camry won't hurt Camry sales.

Will the cars on the lot already be subjected to the price increase come June 1st? If I buy May 20th - May 23rd will the new prices be in affect?

Let's not forget the price of every major option and package has gone up as well...if you wanted a base only car, yes, it went up $400 (say for a 335xi) but if you want, metallic paint, it went up about $40, sport package-up $100, premium package- up $100, etc. you get my drift...my car went up exactly $900, luckily, it was already here in the states at the production center so I feel like I saved $900!!! My dealer says if the car is in the dealership by June 1 or you ordered by 5/10, you are safe from the increases...my two cents...

This sucks, I plan on getting an 09, not that it is an incredible amount but do you think they will increase the 09's when they arrive too or just this increase will stabilize until then?
