Which BMWHK service centre?

Hi!

Its time my car got a service as the service light is on and a good oil change is in order.

Which BMW service centre would you guys recommend? Or are they no different to local garage?

I have no idea what needs to be changed, but I just want to give the car to them, with all the items that needs to be maintained, maintained. I'm a bit worried because I find HK people have ZERO common sense in most things.

Cheers,
BMW

Is this your first service? Do you have a record of where the service was done last?
Going to BMWHK has it's PROS and CONS - with one scan, they will know exactly what needs to be serviced. However, it's much costlier. Substantially actually.
Going to a local garage would mean cheaper service but some just goes by the book and do all the basic stuff.
If it's our first, I would recommend spending a bit more and just do it at BMWHK, just to know a bit more about your car if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the reply.

When I got the car last year, it was serviced by the vendor. There's no service booklet either.

But I think you're right, better to go with BMWHK for the first time. But which BMWHK service centre would you recommend?

In the UK, every service centre varied in skill, competence, and service. I bet its the same here in HK if not worse :-S

Cheers,
BMW

Since I'm over at the HK side, I've only been to the one in Chai Wan and service was good.
Don't know about the others

There is another BMW Serevice Center located in To Kwa Wan and you may find more info for reservation below.

Avoid Tsuen Wan and Chai Wan one since they are new and small.

I would recommend TKW for more skilled and experienced staffs there. But seriously it is not necessary to go back to BMWHK for non M 3 Series, they use Shell Helix Ultra for non-M cars, which is inferior to the Mobil 1 Gold on old days.

For cars over 4 or 5 years (old) not sure, 20% discounts would be offered (or 30% if you have owned more than 3 bmws at the same time).

Just perform regular car service outside as really no need back to BMW HK

Unless you get a specific warning light related to engine, Gear box, DTC, DSC, ABS

Besides, suggest you buy the 24 hrs road assistance package

for maintenance i recommend against bmwhk since they dont actually do quite a few items...

eg: transmission fluid - according to bmw, this is lifetime and never needs to be changed... right....

I would like to know as well. I need to so a regular service soon and BMW wants 2k for only oil change which seems a bit steep.
