I finally got around to coding my car tonight. I've accomplished all but the lighting changes in about 20 minutes.

Edit: I read up a little more on my NFRM issue, figured out how to swap ECU folders, went out and coded the rest of it! Success!

I added the digital speedometer display without correction, added the weather radio bands to iDrive, added the fuel stop recommendation to navigation, enabled high beams + low beams + fogs, removed the seat belt chime, removed the front corner bulbs, deleted the legal disclaimer popup on iDrive and added DVD video in-motion.

I was driving around earlier with my seatbelt off, a smug look on my face and Talladega Nights playing in full screen on the iDrive.

Your rims are sexy but I wouldn't want to roll my fenders and I don't have have money for coils yet ha. Were you at the cupcake meet? My friend recognizes your car with the 95's on and said you were taking pictures. I ordered some st160's instead .

Just a small roll.

Yea I was, there were a lot of people so I probably won't remember lol.

Get the coils and pick the wheels up from me, I'll give you a deal!

Hey guys, just joined forums recently. Was hoping to get a couple recommendations on shops to get a few basic things done around Plano/Frisco. First of all, I need window tint. Should I just go with Earmark or are there any other shops you would recommend.

Second, I was hoping to dechrome the window trim. Was wondering what options and shops I have to choose from in the area.

Also, the previous owner (who leased) didn't really seem to care about cleaning brake dust, and so you can imagine the difficulties I've been having trying to get the wheels perfectly clean. Is there anyone in the area that might be able to offer a more effective cleaning or am I going to have to opt for sandblasting/painting?

Thanks a lot,
Dan

P.S. sorry if any of these questions were already answered in this particular thread. Haven't had time to read through all the pages yet.

Tint: Tritek/ProTint

As far as cleaning the wheels, depending on how dirty it is you may be able to get by with some strong wheel cleaner (sonax) or really really light sanding. Wheel solutions in Carrollton might be able to help you clean.

Aftermarket Installs: Cobb Tuning
Maintenance: Autoscope Park Cities or Ultimate Bimmer Service I've heard is good.

Welcome aboard man! I agree with all of Michael's recommendations. Tritek has done lots of people's tint and I've personally been to Cobb and Autoscope multiple times. You can't go wrong. Come out to the meet on Thursday if ya can!

Thanks a lot michael and wookie. First bmw so just wanted a few pointers. Thanks for expecting my follow up questions of maintenance and aftermarket haha. I'm not going to be able to make it out to any meets just yet, just moved back to Dallas and still getting situated. Appreciate the advice and hospitality though -- looking forward to meeting the community.

Thanks for the heads up. I need to buy oil for the S4. It should be running no later than next weekend. ;-)

Pro Tint did mine with Huper Optik, I'm not sure if anyone else locally can do that. Wasn't cheap though!

I have answered him, I did not "scam" this guy, he saw the wheels in person, Its not like I shipped them to him. He was there in person while they were mounted on his car. I had no idea they were bent, and if they truly were bent I know that it was not bc of me. I had them for maybe 3 months, anyways its not your place to worry about it...and to your comment in the other thread , yes I am young...but Im not trying to scam anyone.

Anyone know of any oil change specials at the DFW dealerships? Tischer's got the kit for $85 shipped, but I remember classic was doing a $90 oil change not too long ago, which is definitely worth the $5 to not get my hands dirty. I'm only looking for OEM filter/oil (I've had consumption issues using Mobil1).

I've got my 15% card too from classic, so even around $100 wouldn't be too bad.

Help out a lazy member!

EDIT: I see the owner of the wheels posted something, so I'll just let his thread do the talking.
