Athos,

I wouldn't order the car until I had seen and driven it, so I had to wait until the beginning of this month, at which point no ED pickup date could be given before the end of June. That plus the 6-8 weeks to ship back to Washington, plus me moving to WA and starting a new job in the 2nd week of July, plus having to leave my car behind, meant I'd have to rent in WA and cancel out any savings from the ED.

Long story short, in my unique circumstances it did not make sense. It does make sense for a lot of people though, especially those who will have a car until theirs gets back. I'm not worried I'll make it to Europe and an ED soon enough. This may be my first BMW but I hope its not the last.

Sounds like the off the lot pricing is coming down a little. I had a dealer tell me there was no way he could do a thousand below sticker, I walked and now he keeps callin me and wants to make the deal. Cant get the car I want for two more weeks so I will keep chippin away.

I assume that 'out the door' includes tax, license/reg, dealer prep, etc. Correct?

It is included ($695). This is the "Destination charge", which is the same on all cars, E.D. or otherwise.

We shook hands, I handed over the credit card and placed a $500 deposit. Probably one of the most enjoyable negotiations I've ever had.

After checking on Edmunds.com with options, this price works out to be $2250 above invoice. There may be better deals out there, but I think this was fair for a car that was just recently released.

I'm in Hillsdale. Would be interested in the dealer's name if you'd be willing to PM me please. Thanks! (Ironically, I am literally nextdoor to BMWNA in both Woodcliff Lake and Montvale - know people in Operations at the latter but have to drive up north to Rahway I guess on Hwy. 17 about 7 miles to get to a retail dealer).

I went to Prestige BMW on Rt 17 in Ramsey, NJ.

I spent about 30 seconds negotiating $1500 off MSRP.

Wow Id.... It looks like you folded for Nav too?!?! Nav is a must out here in Deutschland. I can't tell you how many times I've been lost. German roads are so unforgiving if you ever miss a turn. I really could have used Nav on my drive to Camp Darby (Pisa) a few weeks ago. What a nightmare of a drive!!! There was so many turns and highway changes, that my navigator (wife) couldn't even look up from the conventional map.

Yeah, Nav comes in real handy out here. At first I was having doubts until I statred thinking about adding the PP. Then the obvious choice was the Nav. I rather know where I am headed to than being comfy while I get lost

Only 1 dealer in Honolulu. Best offer they gave me was not charging me the $4500 dealer mark-up!

I paid sticker price but they installed LoJack for free and threw in all-weather and normal floor mats (I wanted all that anyway). I felt that I was getting a crappy deal but for getting the car in a week without pre-ordering, I wasn't too unhappy about it.
