Tire Pressure Signal ON after changing wheels

Folks,

I changed the stock wheels of my BMW 328i Sedan 2008 Model (e90) with bigger wheels taken out of a 335i. My Original wheel size was 16''. The new wheels are 18''.

The new wheels were installed with the TPMS which came with it. Now after riding for a couple of miles, the Tire Pressure Signal has turned ON and it is not going away. I tried to reset it couple of times. The Reset was successful but the signal is still ON. So I far I would have driven some 25 miles with the new wheels.

Should I take out the TPMS from the old wheels and put on the new wheels? Will this solve issue?

Old Wheel Size : 16" BMW 328i 205/55/16
New Wheel Size: 18" BMW 335i 225/45/18

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

I do not know to much when it comes to TPMS's, but I think there is a difference between LCI and Non-LCI TPSM's. What year vehicle did the TPMS come off of on your new wheels?

I think this might do the trick. The TPMS in the new wheels is probably not recognized by the system in your car. I know they changed at some point. 2009 maybe?

I am not sure. I got it from ebay and the car picture shown in the post resembled F30

Then they probably will not be recognized by your car. You will most likely need to swap your old TPMS's in.

As stated above, BMW changed the frequency of the TPMS sending units sometime late 2009 - newer TPMS will not be recognized by your older receivers...

Thanks all. I swapped the TPMS and everything looks good. No More Tire Pressure Signal issues.

The tire shop charged me 120$ to take out the TPMS from the old wheels and install in the new wheels. Kind of expensive though.
