JB4 Installed

Just want say thanks to Stu for the JB4 install, the car feel so much different now, I'm a bit worried the my right foot is getting a bit heavier, also I can't remember where the temp guage was before the JB4 was installed, does it always stay at half way or just below that, is that where it should be?

I just want to make sure that I'm not doing any damage to the engine if it's overheating.

Once again thanks Stu.

Cheers,
Kenny

the oil temp is a big issue imho on the n54, with many peeps getting additional oil coolers. as with any engine warm oil is good hot oil is not. what constitutes warm and hot is engine specific. the n54 seems happy from 80-120 over 140 the ecu will pull power. there is a chart here somewhere with the heat and power reduction stages. for me in traffic i can see up to 120, on the track i have seen 130. the good thing with the jb4 is if you 'feel' things gettign a little hot simply turn on the max cool function and temps will drop pretty quick.

BTW congrats on the tune and enjoy

+1 to stu !! He did the install for me too

Btw has anyone realise that with the jb4 the engine oil temp warms up quite quickily compared to non-jb4. If I remember correctly before jb4 my car takes about 10-15 minute just to get the needle of the oil temp moving. whereis now not even 10 minutes the needle has started moving? Is it just my car or it's same for everyone after having jb4?

COBB has made no difference in how quickly oil warms up.... only thing I notice is the outside air temp. one night was 5 degrees after 30 min of driving wouldn't move off 2nd bar

I'd be pretty confident that it's got nothing to do with the jb4

Now you need to setup all the goodies!

Map 5,
Flash When Ready
Hijack Gauges on 50% throttle
my gauges I have fuel for boost target over/under and oil temp as Boost
Autoclear codes
Can Flap Open

My car has the factory oil cooler, Its pretty hard for me to get it to the dead center mark. I can get it there but I have to a complete ass driving it. Do you have an oil cooler. If not that should be your next thing on the list.
I think thats all for now. What a difference that 15 minutes makes to the car.
