when i mode the shifter in to ds mode, it would not do anything, not even show in dash and it won't engage in ds mode, just will light up the ds mode in the PRND gear selector.

if i am move the shifter into ds mode meaning moving the shifter to the left, it won't engage the ds mode but I can do the m1 m2 m3 m4 m5 m6 buttttttt for example if i am in m2 and i drive for 20 seconds with out chaning to m3, it will be automatically change it to d mode, even if the shifter is in the left side as ds mode.

Nice to know you finally go it done. Wish I could help but not sure why that's happening. Does it do the same thing in sport mode?
even if i mode the shifter to the left looking to engage ds mode, i won't do anything, not even show ds mode in dash.

but if i mode the shifter to the left forward and back, i will do m1 m2 m3 m4 m5 m6 but if i am for example in m2 and i drive in that gear for 20 seconds with out changing it to m3, it will automatically change it to d mode again.

Damn that came out REALLY nice. Love the red interior. I wonder if it could be a coding/programming issue?

Sounds to me like a coding issue as well, but you swapped everything, including the ECUs. Is there anything in there that is part of the 328i original setup that you didn't swap? Maybe a harness?

Also, congrats on this endeavor! Other than those issues, how does the wagon feel with the 335i heart? I would love to do this if I had the money.

Edit: Since we should not be hijacking tpowerdinny's thread, can you start a new thread with information about your build? I would love to know more!

Thank you!!!! it came out nicer that i thought it will came out.

the guy who did it for me was very very good doing it.

we run the computer and all the codes to it and we only found that wire missing the famous #15 lol .

i have not any error codes now on the dash, not know what it is yet, i will keep doing my homework for this little issue but if you hear something about it or similar problem, let me know

who did it, he could not take pictures of the built up but i can tell you that was everything strsigh froward except for little things.

like: rear bumper repaired to make dual exhaust fit like original 335i touring wagon.

we swap everything except one harness that is the harness from the ecu to the steering wheel, i think there could be the problem as well.

the wagon feels totally different and i am waiting for install the jb4 that already have in my hands but with this little issue i been postponing it to install it to the wagon, that will bring the wagon to a little more fun

Did you try and check to see that this isnt related to the infamous DS mode issues?

Thank you! Progress is slow. But it is advancing. Next week we start the rear bumper. Then it's all about aligning every panel. Unfortunately I'm going to stick with the silver. I am considering wrapping it. And I'm looking really hard at reupholstering the interior to a different color.

Passenger side done.

You should get the BMW performance seats and reupholster those if you want! But damn dude, I'd love to do this on my car.
Great progress.

Thanks! Those Performance seats are but I just can't justify them for this one. Maybe later on if I end up doing the V8 transplant .But at least I got these... stock seats are so terrible, just not acceptable to put a hard bench with no ergonomics that looks like a seat inside. So if I were to reupholster I'd be also doing the front M3 seats .

Damn dude that looks SO good. So crispy clean.

I've been thinking about reupholstering in red or cinnamon, or maybe a two-tone. I love color interiors with black contrast. Right now the interior will sit on hold until possibly January. Things are moving slow but they are moving.

BORING UPDATE

Today we started with the rear bumper. Tomorrow it will be chopped up. Tomorrow we should also do the EVAP Canister Relocation in preparation for the custom dual exhaust later on. Maybe on Tuesday the rear bumper will be in primer.

These updates are not sexy but they are made to show the progress in case you want to attack a similar conversion. There are plenty of thread that show info and final results. I'm trying to show a little more when possible.

REAR BUMPERs were chopped up but its still need a few edges shaved. The cutting line under the piece of the stock bumper for example was just left from the initial cut. As you can see though, it all lines up pretty well. Now we need to make sure the top edges line up to the quarter panel perfectly. It will get plastic welded on Monday. I'll try to get some pics for you guys.

Rad. What is so different about the M3 bumper that it doesnt just bolt on with your new quarters?

Thank you! My idea right now is to progressively shave it down. The stock E90 M3 bumper also has the style line. If you look a few posts above in the picture of both bumper you'll notice it. The M3 bumper just has a shorter line. Not too worried about it.

The big problem is that the tailgate and corner of the quarter panel are shaped completely different to an E90 which uses a trunk and also slightly different taillight assembly. Nothing is DRASTICALLY visually different but they are different enough that it could not simply be a bolt on. The side length is different. The top center is very different. Below are pics so you can see what I mean.
