I know that both auto check and Carfax can both be worked around in a lot of cases, especially with the way some states handle things and by doing out-of-state body work etc...but they're def worthwhile. My question is, which one is usually more thorough, is there a difference or are they both basically the same?

I've always found Carfax to have more detail when comparing past reports for the same cars. I don't exactly know the differences in sources that each report gets them from... but a dealer once told me that carfax is connected to LexisNexis which is what insurance agents and most shops are connected to.
