I'm getting the serious itch for another short Sunday morning mountain run. Tmoney...what do you say?

Hey man. I wish I could. Check out the pic below. Looks like my car is going to be at the body shop for some repairs late this week or early next week. I'm thinking of taking it to Magnum Collision. How was your experience with them?

Ohh, soo f'in sorry to see that bro. That hurts man.

Magnum is pretty good...not perfect, but pretty good. i would double check their work very carefully and take your time doing it. My biggest complaint about Magnum is they are slow, slow, slow. Not kind of slow...very, very slow.

Thanks for the info man. I might check into some other body shops in the Alpharetta area. I've already been without my car for 1 week because I've stopped driving it. I'm hoping I can be back on the road in a couple of weeks.

Still debating whether I want to get the M-Tech body kit for the sedan. I'll post some pics after it's done.

Sorry for barging into your conversation. I did a search for Atlanta and there you guys were. I have been itching for a mountain drive.. My husband and I have been discussing going on Friday. I want take some pics of the car and thought the traffic would be better if we didn't go on the weekend. Here is the route we were going to take if you or anyone else is interested - and can keep up. (kidding ) We are in Roswell off of Mabry. I am Jessica by the way and pics of the baby are here.

This is a route that we previously did when I had my previous car and we came home a different route. There are also video clips from the drive at the link above.

I agree that the Tail of the Dragon seems pretty overrun with cops right now. I can probably make the Sunday drive, but I'd have my kids with me. Will have to think about that one. Last time I drove over Blood Mountain with the family in tow, I had a kid throwing up in the back and a wife turning green in the front. And that was after taking it easy!

I like Veruca's idea of going Friday. Kids are in school from 8:20 to 3:20, so that's appealing. My folks have a shop in Clayton, too, so that would give me a good excuse to drop in. Jessica, what time were you and your husband thinking of going?

Hey matt,

My own stupidity really. Was rolling to a stop when the car in front of me did a panic stop at a red light. Lost attention for a fraction of a second and needless to say that I rear-ended the other car going about 15 mph.

The clear bra is toast. It's torn and heavily wrinkled. Not sure I'm going to spend another $700 for one after my bumper is replaced. I think the new bumper cover + paint might be around the same price. I'm gonna talk with the adjuster tomorrow and see if insurance will cover it.

I'll be back in action in 2-3 weeks.

My goal for this Sunday's run was a more aggressive drive. Not stupid aggressive, by any stretch, just as aggressive as you care to safely express yourself. Last time we did the run, we had some awesome sprints and I personally would like to get a few more of those into the mix.

I have a Valentine One, so that will offer some defense against officers. Also, we are not actually in the meat comprising the tail of the dragon, hopefully reducing our chances of running into the police. Here is the map that Tmoney made for us last time:

We are meeting at 7:30am on Sunday at the Starbucks located at 4180 Old Milton Pkwy (exit 10 off 400) in Alpharetta (770.521.9865). We'll finish the run around noon.

So far, we have three confirmed drivers and three maybes. That's just about right for a faster running group. 3-6 is doable.


Veruca, I would enjoy a week day run, but have to plan it a bit further in advance. Next time you are interested, please post something here so I can join in!!

I am so bummed that i was unable to attend this run. beleive me i wanted to but i have a very sick doggie who needs her daddy close right now. please keep me in mind next time. i know my neighbor would love to come and maybe my co-worker with her chipped A4 quattro. i know ya'll had a blast!

Hey guys/gals. How was the run?

We finally went on our drive yesterday. We had a great time. Surprisingly, there was almost no one on the roads except for one guy in a kia blocking my money shot at one of the pull offs. I was so sad I didn't get one picture of the car. Unfortunately, we thought it would be a good idea to make a stop in Helen, GA since we had never been there - we will not be returning. Otherwise, the drive was great!

Yea, Helen is only good during Oktoberfest. Looks like I'll be out of commission for the whole month of September. My car is going into the body shop for repairs/upgrades. Glad you enjoyed it. We frequently take HWY 129 up through Vogel State Park. Double-lanes + banked turns = freude am fahren.

What road is the 'loop?' We drove it once before but I wasn't really paying attention to the actual road name. Sucks about your car. Did you get a loaner?
