Suspension assistance needed
I recently bought a used 335i from 2007 with 55k miles. I have a concern about the suspension though, the car seems to be very low without any aftermarket suspension work. Also when I hit bumps in the road the car feels very stiff and I hear some nasty noises coming from the rear. Finally when I am going about 70+mph the back of the car feels as if it is on ice and it's just floating around. I need help figuring out what could be causing this problem. Thank you

Inspect/torque control arm and shock bolts. Rear subframe bushings and/or rear shock mounts may be worn

At minimum your shocks need replacing. I'd do the mounts too.
Can you send pics of the car?

I'm sorry to see you're yet another victim of the "lower it on springs and everything will be fine" idiocy.
The dampers are in all likelihood worn out - no longer effective. To fix, you'll be at the very least looking to replace the dampers. Koni Yellows are supposed to pair with the H&R Sport's. For a full kit (new dampers +springs), you'd be looking at KW V1. You could then sell your H&R springs to mitigate the price difference.

Pothole explosions? Google can help you there. But even better is a set o'Koni FSD's. Designed for stock springs, they'll solve many problems. Disconnected back end is a product of BMW's miserable e-diff and subframe bushings. Sub Wavetrac LSD & M bushings. May as well add M sways front & rear. For that finishing touch, add M arms front & rear - they have Delrin, not rubber! |
