Anyone use a rotating brush with jet-wash?

If you do, have you found it to be better than the sponge etc?

I have just bought a jet-wash but was thinking about getting a rotating brush accessory for it.

Personally, nothing touches my paint but very good microfober or pure american cotton cloth.

I don't know what the rotating brush is made of but it sounds scary to me.

I would avoid brushes and sponges. Brushes will scratch and sponges have no knap to pull in dirt. Any dirt trapped in a sponge will rub against your paint causing scratches.

If you're interested, see the article on proper washing in the 'Detailing 101' sticky.

If I remember correctly you recommended Viking wash mitt. Is there something special in this mitt over any lamb skin mitt?

The viking stuff is usually high quality, but really, any good sheepskin mitt will do the job. I like these types of mitts because they have long fibres that pull dirt away from the paint and will not scratch your finish.

As for MF mitts, I'm not sold on them because they have very short fibres (no knap to pull dirt into) and can do as much damage as a sponge.

Thanks for the info. I have not managed to find the Viking mitts (or any other here in Finland) but I found this company in UK: www.performancemotorcare.com and I already got shipment from them. I have never used sheep skin mitt before but I'll try it tomorrow.

The first two mitts look very nice. The one I have is very similar to the second one on this page:

I go to Canadian Tire (kind of like auto zone in the USA). They sell their own Simoniz brand of wash mitts that are most likely from the same manufacturer as many of the 'name' brand wash mitts.
