MY ED Experience, 3/16-3/22

OK
I just came back today and after 19 hours in 2 airports and 2 planes my brain is somewhat fried, so excuse me if this does not sound coherent, however I do have to share this with you.
Left Indiana on the 15th of March, landed in Munich at 7 am, I was met by Peter (a friend of Rolf email rolf.raffelsieper@web.de Thanks Rolf)
Rolf was busy that day and time so he sent Peter.
Peter is very nice with good English, he was very helpful. He drove us to the European Delivery center. Showed them my passport and went up for breakfast. There Peter gave use some ideas about food and shopping in Munich.
25 minutes later I took delivery of my 335i E92, Premium package, Sports package, Steptronic , Heated seats, Paddle shifters.
Was instructed by the lady not to rev more than 3500 rpm (initially I thought bummer, but hey that is good for about 107 miles with a 335i.
Drove around went to the hotel (Le Meridien, Very Very Nice) spent a couple of days in Munich then drove to Prague.
250 miles of autobahn, SUPERRRRRRRRR stayed with friends and wednesday morning drove back to Munich, some snow.
I was somewhat worried with the light snow and the whole issue with winter tires.
No one asks (except BMW makes you sign a waiver).
When I asked friends who live in Germany I was told the police will make you pay a fine if you get into an accident and it will be 100% your fault even if someone rear ends you.
Anyway, back in Munich drop off at Harms, see pic of me and Thomas shaking hands.
Super experience, I can not wait for my next car in 3-4 years, maybe a 650
If anyone needs any advice about alternative hotels in Munich or Prague or anything in general feel free to email me.
Now the wait begins, I will email Thomas on Monday for shipping details and then more waiting.
Ahh the heartache!

Congratulations! It seems like your trip was short and sweet. I was thinking of doing the ED but couldn't make it work with my work schedule so I decided to do the next best thing, PCD. How was driving in light snow with summer tires? My CA told me that it's required for RWD cars to have winter tires during winter in Germany...I'm guessing that's true. How long do you have to wait to see your ride again?

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Sounds like an awesome trip! I just got back as well, I was there last week. Thomas is the man. I didn't know about this prior to going, but he lets people keep their cars for the weekend so you don't have to turn it in on Fridays.

Congrats on the new ride, maybe I'll see you around the midwest.

Thanks for your replies.

Drvung was ok, you have "acceptable traction" I did not have the DTC go off at all , however the snow was very light and was not "sticking"
Your CA is right you should by law have M+S tires in the winter, and there is no time definition (ie dates) like in Croatia or Austria.
However no one checks, but if you have an accident you will get a fine and maybe (one German friend told me) the insurance Allianz would not pay.
I was actually surprised to see that my insurance had a zero deductible even for theft! Real peace of mind.
As for how long it will take I guess 3-4 weeks.
Thomas said if I emailed him on Monday he would send me the details. As of today the website is not showing any sign of the car being checked in
