DIY HD Radio ?

Has anyone done this? I haven't seen a post on it and a search did not turn it up.

Everything I've heard says it can't be done as a retrofit, it had to be a factory installed option.

I'm still not convinced of that, but it'd definitely require a friendly dealer to figure out the coding and it's a a little rich for trial-and-error. There are other threads on the parts cost.
