Ok guys, I have UR catless DP's, 2nd cat delete, Borla Mufflers, Forge DV, JB3, Logic Intake, Clutch Divertor Valve, and RROCC as far as engine mods go

the numbers are just diasppointing, thought it would be upper 300's maybe even 400whp.... am i crazy?

What else do I need to get to the 400whp club?

Side note, the guys at EPL are awesome and they have some amazing toys in there!!

You are not crazy! The dyno is. Go to a BMW specialist in your area. With those mods you should be in the 400hp. Can't make out what the base dyno reading is and if any were taken.

Ps. My first time to see such a complicated dyno reading...

those are really low numbers considering your mods...I think there has to be something wrong with your car...what boost psi were you seeing? Even for a Mustang dyno those numbers look really low

I think peak was 13-14 range, I tried to run Map 7 but couldnt get to it... I got to learn more about the capabilities of the range... I saw these numbers and was heart broken after all the blood/sweat put into the car

If you want to be able to compare to most of the other dyno's on this site, go find a dynojet..it will read much higher, and give you a better sense of how you compare to other dynos with same mods.

That's why they call Mustang Dynos heartbreakers. What gear did you do the pull in? I showed a 20-30whp difference from dynojet to mustang. Also, I had to do my pull in 3rd on the Mustang as it took wayyy too long to do the pull in 4th, resulting in the car to get far too heat soaked, oil temp got too high and coolant temp got too high. Having said all that, I think your numbers are still a little low as I did around 330whp with only mods being tune and DCI on 93 octane on a brand new Mustang dyno that my friend bought. Maybe the dyno operator did not put in the correct values for your car?

Even for a mustang dyno those are bad numbers. Did you do a baseline on that dyno also?

Thats a mustang dyno for you. I saw a 09 M3 put down 289 whp on a mustang. The guy looked lke he was going to pass out. Mustangs dynos can read super low.

Mustangs read low especially if set up correctly. My Stock STI put down 212-216 whp on one. If your looking for glory numbers don't use a dyna dynamics or a mustang. For high numbers use a dynojet or a dynapak. Both the later dynos are inferior though. Look at your delta change from stock and don't get so caught up in the actual numbers.

+1. Dyno numbers are one thing, have you run it at the track? If so what have you run in the 1/4, trap speeds?

+1 for Mustang Dyno's giving off low numbers..

dyno dynamics will also read low as well as that measures to the wheel and not the crank....


go with the dynojet if you want some higher numbers, as that seems to be the standard for most dynos done on here...

also, trying doing a pull on the stock JB3 map before running one of the higher maps, just to get a baseline measure

Yes, We did about 5 pulls, I only got 3, there was drastic improvement from stock valet map to map 6, about 65hp 60 tq.

I dont think so, what should the gage read when started... ive gotten between -19/-22

Dynos should be there to measure results and compare to YOU and what YOU have done in the past.
Dynos are not there for the comparison of other dynos.

Actually your numbers look OK! You did 232 stock, and 286 on map 3. Gain of 54hp to the four wheels, which would be 65-70rw gain on a dynojet. Boost looks normal, I don't see any indication of any issue except for an all wheel Mustang dyno result.

and that is why there are constantly threads like this. People do not understand the number a dyno spits out is just that...a number. Pretty much the only thing they are good for is doing before and after tests and tuning if it's an eddy current dyno.

Find a DynoJet and do the pulls again. You should be sitting at at least ~350 hp range with your mods.

I had similar mods as you, minus the Borla exhaust and second cat delete, and I put down ~350 hp/370 tq, on 92 pump gas with stock IC.

With a FMIC and a more aggressive map, you'll be closer to the 400 hp range than you think!! I'm trying to get there myself, that would be my goal, but I don't think that's gonna happen on 92 pump gas. I think the most I'll get out is ~390hp if not, a little less.

I'm clueless as to how jpsimmon's car put down 390 awhp with a stock IC......But more props to him, I'd love to be in his shoes, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I'd think that the logic intake is hurting you, as it is more restrictive than a simple DCI...

Dude, that's a mustang dyno...its calibrated in a way to read way lower than what it typically should...use a dynojet

Had some trouble with the Rix gage as you can no longer change maps by the pedal correct? We tried all 4 maps on the gage and 1 and 3 i believe were exactly the same.

If you want to dyno race (dynojets) with everyone else here, try Pruven in Milford, CT (rt1, not sure if they're still around) or ICS in Stamford. http://www.dynojet.com/dyno_centers/...utomotive.aspx

There's not much to screw up on your car if you're just using a few basic parts that everyone else uses. You should be in the same neighborhood for HP.

I think JPSimon is up in Milford. He may be willing to give you a run to see how you fare in the real world. He organized the last dyno day at ICS I believe. Keep your eyes open for those too.

Actually, you should dyno race on a Mustang dyno for all those saying to do it on a Dynojet. The new Mustang dyno's have a 1/4 mile feature where you do a 1/4 mile run. It's fairly accurate too.
