Not sure how your 'budget' is but since Michelin PS2 are $$$$, Michelin PSS may be a great alternative =). I'm thinking about Continental DWS if summer tires isn't a requirement.

I don't feel a thing lol. And at approx. $200 a tire, it's pretty cheap I think.

+1

I've been rolling with these since buying my M Coupe last April, although I was away for most of Decemeber/January and work from home so didn't need to drive all that much.

I'm considering replacing them with some Conti DWS, which have also been mentioned in this thread, so that I can drive with a bit more confidence in the winter when the temperatures drop. I did feel less traction on the rear tires when it was colder.

Nankang NS II are pretty cheap ($115 a tire). They aren't the most quality tire out there, but as long as you're not tracking your car, these tires are excellent road quality. I've had my "rubber bands" on for 2 years and counting.

Andy,

I have been looking at prices on the DWS and discount tires seem to have the best deal. They will also do price matching with tire rack.

i just called them, they said that the DWS is on backorder. but you are right. 193, its cheaper compared to tirerack because you have to pay for shipping anyway.

Andy,

Below is the quote I got from Discount in Bellevue:

David, The Continental DWS tires would be $982.93 complete unless we have to rebuild tpms sensors. The sensor rebuild is $7.50 per wheel or an additional $30.00. The other staggered combination I found was the BFG KDW NT also great wet traction tire at $987.31 complete. I have the BFG's the Continentals are a few days out. Let me know which way you would like to go and I will be happy to get the ball rolling. Thanks for letting us take care of your tire needs, Gevan

I think the price includes tax and installation charges (mounting and balancing wheel).

Also check with discount tire's online store as they can sometimes be even cheaper than tirerack. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do

Just picked up some DWS Conti's from Tire rack for my E39 M parallels Stag setup. Free 12 month road hazard waranty provided by Continental and the Treadlife Warranty was an added bonus. see - http://www.tirerack.com/images/pdf/warranty/CONTI1.pdf

My good friend is runing the Conti's year round on his Jag coupe for the last 2 years here in Chicago and I still say he is nuts even with the mild winter this year but he does ok. I have some stock 17" with Dunlop winters for the rough stuff and because of the wife's winter driving skills or lack of. As an aside I was less than happy with the Pirelli P Zero Nero's I had for the last 40K as they kept needing a rebalance every year to keep the dreaded E39 60 mph front end shakes away.
