What is this sensor?
The instructions on the BMS website to install the JB4 say that this sensor is optional. What does it do? I know the one on the passenger side is an air quality sensor for the climate control, but what about this one circled in red below?

It is the connector for the hood sensor for the alarm system. I am assuming you don't have an alarm. Early e90s were pre-wired from the factory.
Actually, it looks like the push button switch might be on there. Do you have the alarm? Last edited by Blackhawk36; 09-24-2013 at 09:55 AM.. |

Is it a push button? When you push it with your thumb does it come back, basically spring loaded to out? Anyway, the only sensor on that side in that location is for the alarm. If you have the alarm and it is on, when someone opens the hood, the siren goes off.
