Great drive, hopefully the camera set up on the side of the road in the Royal National Park on the way home didn't get too many happy snaps as we drove past. |

Great day, a nice way to say goodbye to the Z.
I think Fiona got some good pics but she (and her camera) are now in NZ. I'll post up later in the week when she gets back. ps: if you want to do that drive properly you need to get started early so you are at Robertson just as the sun is coming up! Jeff |

Some Vids
Thanks everyone for coming. It was a fun day and great to meet some more of the screen names in person. I'm still not sure where we lost Ben, but it must have been at the end of the Bulli Pass ... that bit wasn't in my initial post but I was happy to take suggestions on the fly, and it did cut a boring bit out of the cruise.
Here are a couple of videos I have chopped together from the Monster Pod mounted camera (which worked quite well for $50 including case): Sea Cliff Bridge I was stuck behind a Honda Civic going down and stuck behind an impatient (but law abiding) 335 going back Macquarie Pass That Nissan X-Trail! Still, I did get some enjoyment at the overtaking lane. Highlight is at about 6:20 mark at the hair pin bend. I'm not sure whose tires squealed, Jeff's or Brad's They were both fairly close behind me at that point. Again, thank-you all ... I will sleep well tonight PS: On the way back though Sydney, I witnessed a bizarre accident (unfortunately didn't have the camera rolling at the time). On Falcon Street, Crow's Nest a minibus decided to suddenly turn across a lane of traffic into the Hari Krishna center, taking out a little red Toyota Corolla in the process. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but it was the most amazingly reckless bit of driving I have seen in a long while. |

Arrgghhh
I should have gone. The roads look brilliant. Great video too Gerifix. How did the M3 go against the 335's? The V8 sounds awesome. Can we do it again next weekend? Cheers, CaptOz

Alas, I fear that Stuart in the 335 is quicker than me in the M3 (but I am rather protective). A couple of times he was alarmingly up my chuff! On one occasion on the Jamberoo Mountain Road, I had just completed a rather hasty passing move only to find a crest ahead ... I slowed a little, went over and found a sharp right hander very close ... Stuart was airborne when he saw my brake lights and the corner .... there is nothing wrong with the 335's brakes. I don't think I went much over 6,500 rpms on the cruise. Listening to the video, the V8 sounds like a big lazy yank V8 when accelerating in 3rd ... I love it. As testimony to my cautiousness, the DSC light wasn't seen throughout the journey ... although I was in M-Dynamic Mode most of the time. Next cruise ... somewhere north in a couple of months. I'd like to do a bit more following next time ... it's less taxing. |

Camera mount looks to be doing a great job there Geri, you have much less vibration/bump noise than my setup.
For the best result you have to turn the air off though...No pain no gain!!!
