My brother is looking to replace his 07 S4 with a new coupe. He is currently comtemplating the following cars:

1. RS5
2. Cayman R
3. New M3

What would be your recommendations?

Although maintenance will be significantly higher on the Porsche, if you're considering these cars, you're probably not concerned about cost. Go with the Porsche.

personally i think it's a age group thing.

I voted M3 based on my own age group (23) but I would go with the RS5 too.

M3 any day, although the new Cayman looks good, my money would be on a 911 over the Cayman, but that's just me. RS5 - why? Although I just don't like Audis they're just not the same since the group B quatro days.

He liked the AWD on his S4 and is leaning toward the RS5 for this reason. The GTR and 911 is out of his price range. He is not looking to buy used. He does not know if he want to wait for the M3 coupe to come out (estimated to be out by 2014).

does he want a useable trunk? then an RS5. if he doesnt care about space, then Cayman S.

I'd pick M3 if it wasnt on its last year of run. i personally wouldnt want to buy a 70k car just to have it be outdated in 2yrs.
