I'm not 100% sure, but I swear that is Lake Louise 1.5 hrs from Calgary. It looks exactly like that photo, it is absolutely breathtaking.

Diesel,
Do you mind talking a little more about your camera, lenses, settings etc. You take awesome photo's. Also, for the other photographers out there, please post more info regarding lenses, settings, etc...

I use a Nikon D200. I am partial to Nikon, but any Digital SLR with a good metering system with work. When it comes down to it, it's the quality of glass (lens) that makes th biggest difference (in many cases, my lenses are more expensive than my cameras). As far as settings go, we can't see your current lighting situation, so we can not make suggestions. Let me say this, if you get a good DSLR w/ a decent metering system, use the Auto, Shutter Priority, of Aperture Priority Modes. Experiment a little. Don't take pictures of your car in direct sunlight, best days are overcast or partly sunny. If it's really sunny out, find shade. Get to know the relationship between Shutter Speed, and Aperture, this will help a lot. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. |

I just started picking up photography as a hobby. I bought a Nikon D50, and am learning all the different settings. I'm totally new to Shutter speed, aperture, etc... Thanks for all the help and suggestions, I was hoping that as people post there beautiful photos they could post a little more about how they captured the image.

with alot of pictures, if you save it, rightclick [in windows] and go to properties, click on the summery tab and the advanced button. you can see lots of info there assuming that it wasnt erased by whatver process a poster used to resize the image.
