BigBoosting, did your coding work out in the end?

I just tried recoding my car, including coding the full car with the revtor expert mode profile and (successfully) running an SG_RESET job on the 2URAD module, all without any luck.

Just wanted to update this thread. Through help on another member of this board, I was able to bring my radio back to life using the Icom cable. In case anybody missed it, my Radio's programming was erased a while back when I tried to program it using a D-Can cable. Don't do this!

Anyways, I'm happy now that my retrofit is done! I just bought a BMW OEM Y-cable from another member of E90post today, and that should just about do it for me.

I was on the way to get the radio coded and I hit some interstate debris, totaling the car.

But, my coder was confident that all the radio needed was to be recoded to URAD from 2URAD.

Wow, that blows, sorry . That's not a thing you can do, as far as I'm aware (the two are different hardware, so it's not as though coding would change anything, and the VO option doesn't specify 2/URAD).

Anyway, this is pretty old - I tried to update all the threads I'd posted in but missed this one. I ended up getting it successfully by changing the VO (add $644) and doing an SG_RESET on the whole car.

Hi there, does anyone know the part number for the 4-pin male plug that inserts into the armrest USB/AUX socket? I have searched realOEM and all over the forum, but it seems this part number is pretty elusive. Anyone have this info? Thanks very much!

Thumbs down Iphone Adapter For Music Control From Idrive

Can anyone assist me in identifying the cable I need to buy to enable the search and play of iphone 4s music using the drive? I have 2009 335i with S620A (Voice Control), S639A (Preparation for mobile phone), S6AAA(BMW TeleServices), S6ABA(COntrol for Teleservices), S6FLA(USB/Audio Interface, and Navigation. I purchased and installed the base plate and trim piece. I also purchased the music snap in adapter for the iPhone. The phone charges, but the car stereo does not recognize the iPhone unless I remove it from cradle and connect to the usb port via the Y-cable. I would like to charge an play music from the snap-in adapter. I am thinking there may be a way to jumper into the existing USB and audio jack in the center console?

I don't think the snap-in does music at all, it's only for charging and reception enhancement for Bluetooth calls. If you get an electrical engineer to crack it open and mod the guts of a Y cable in, that's likely possible, though.

there are a few versions of snap-in of which one supports media playing.

Hi guys,

I've read a lot of thread but I'm a little bit lost.

I have a X3 (e83 LCI) I was thinking of doing a retrofit for the bluetooth but it doesnt seams very simple.

I thought of using a MULF2 but it seams that MULF2 have never been used for X3.
Does anyone tried to do a retrofit of bluetooth on a X3?

Thanks for your help

Your MY2009 335i did not have a factory-installed Combox for the Music snap in to work. The Music snap-in is incorrect/useless for your model year.

Combox was factory-installed from MY2011.5-on in the USA.

Please contact forum vendor BimmerTech for details and pricing of a Combox retrofit in your MY2009. No BMW dealer is capable of performing a Combox retrofit.

Hi Thumperx,

It seems that I'm allowed yet to receive private messages. Maybe it's because I'm new of the forum.

I have a Parot installed, and cables for iPod, Jack etc that come from the glove box. It's for the Parot.
So maybe the installation of the Parot will not help a retrofit of Bluetooth.

Yeah, there are some aftermarket BT solutions that are more or less the same path as an OEM mulf retrofit, but unfortunately the parrot is the least OEM it gets short of a speakerphone on your visor or something. It's pretty irrelevant to the discussion.

But that does beg the question, if you've already got the parrot, what's your goal? More OEM feel/get rid of the parrot remote/etc/etc?

I ask because, besides OEM feel, the parrot gets you more on a feature-by-feature basis than a MULF retrofit. But there are also some serious drawbacks to it as well...

Anyway if I recall, the PM limit is 3 posts, so you may be good to pm now.

The Parot is nice to use, but I dont really like it and I only use it to call.
I dont like not to be able to use the Steering Wheel Control. And I also like the challenge.
The first thing I want is to know what I need to buy, and what I need to do. Then I will decide to do it or not.
But I have to admit, I'm a little bit lost right now and that's why I need your help

I'm just wondering, how come you went to all the trouble of finding the right cables/connectors etc. when you could just buy the usb/audio retrofit kit from BMW which has all the bits you need (except the MULF2 Hi)?!

The install pdf in post #3 tells you the part number (ending 465) and whats included. About £280 from bmw in uk, so prob much cheaper in us as everything is!

Then you just need the mulf2 hi if you car doesn't already have it, i bought one for £100 from ebay.

Does sound like quite a lot but i've got my dension 500 and old mulf2 to sell so shouldn't owe me much really.

The kit and guide in question don't retrofit bluetooth for cars that aren't prewired, which is most cases. The kit itself only applies to the USB option, not bluetooth at all.
