what king of wire did you use?
I used the wire that it came with. Wiring it to the battery was scary since sparks were flying. I have a FineVu CR-300HD. I snaked the powermagic wire socket with a clothes hanger under the backseat and plugged in the camera's power cord into the socket. The power cord follows the black felt strip on the door to front.

Might be random vandalism... I can't imagine that ripping this off your car is easier than buying one... If the thief is driving a BMW, is the $50 part going to make or break their budget? I'm having trouble figuring out why someone would ever do this... Just seems really odd

Older BMWs are hitting the used market. This is always bound to happen as the used cars get purchased by those who may be stretching their limits just to attain a BMW. After those car payments, insurance and gas, they may find themselves on the edge and then these scenarios creep up.

Damn dude, that sucks. I bought smoked ones off ebay and they fit perfect. I had to bend the metal tab a little to get it seated, not a big deal. You might want to know that the finish is not perfect, least for me. The back seam, where the two pieces of plastic are melted together can be seen. I think if you spray it with some clear coat, you wont see it.
