Just Got A Used Jb3 And Got A Couple Of Questions!!!
i just got a used jb3 pnp and can't wait to install it.
the guy that i got it from was running it on map 7, when i install it in my car will it be on map 7 or will it default back to map 3? i'm gonna be putting an intake too but dont have it yet, should i wait to install both at the same time or just go ahead and install the jb3 now? thanks guys |

Depending on what intake you bought, you should just wait to install. When you take some of the parts off for the JB3 install, you will be making it easier to install the intake. Remember to run Map 3 for a few days before bumping it up.

If all he did was take the JB3 out and send it to you, it'll be on whatever map, with whatever settings he last used. So in this case, it'll come to you on map7, you should set it to whatever map you want to use.
The only time, maps or settings are changed is when, you remove the CHIP from the board and re-burn with the programmer.

I actually spoke to terry and it does have persistent memory so the map would be saved. It's always a good idea to reset though as you never know what was set before. For the intake i would say if you are getting it in a few days then wait but if you are going to wait a while just install the jb3 now. Why deprive yourself of all the fun Mike Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 05-16-2010 at 11:20 AM.. |
