There are two things holding me back from upgrading to stage 2's.
1) Wedding in January 2) 6AT Will the 6AT hold this power (450-500 whp) with the Alpina flash without any issues? |

Uh oh, so when you say waiting, you mean there's a ton of turbo lag, I knew it!

Stage 2 Turbos of any brand have no noticeable lag Vs a stock set of turbos. The housing size dictates spool, a bigger wheel in the stock housing is not going to effect spool much at all. Tuning can shift your power curve around for what kind of driving you want to do.

You have higher mass with a bigger wheel, the same exhaust energy is going to have to take a little longer to get them spinning, but it's very minimal, I have installed 2 sets of stage 2's and driven the car before and after. I couldn't feel any noticeable difference.

Now out of all the mods I've done; that was the best. Manual mode and a set of DCT paddles is not just a good thing, it makes the cr feel like a real enthusiast car. My last two cars were M3's with MT. I don't miss the MT in my commute and when I decide to play I have the paddles and manual mode. Best of both worlds. Beside the ZF in the 335 is a nice box. Full lockup so it engine brakes like a MT. |
