Anyone done this to the black dakota leather in an e9x? This black leather is too much for me in Texas.

I plan on dying the seats in my Arktic Metallic e90. I'd like to go from dakota black to the same Laguna Seca Blue as in the DIY. But I'm exploring the logistics involved to do so without removing the seats. Anyone think that's possible?? I don't drive my e90 much, so leaving the paint to cure isn't a big deal, and I'd cover everything in the interior. Thanks in advance

Long story short, this guy re-dyed his interior leather seats, and trim from dove grey, to imola red and black, and in my opinion the results are amazing! It makes me interested in doing this myself! Here are a few before and after pics from the thread and link.

Does anyone know where they found the Laguna Seca Blue dye?? The closest BMW color that leatherworldtech.com carries is Estoril Blue, and I'm not sure how it compates
Letherique doesn't even have Estoril Blue. Not sure where else to look

Many of the DIY's done by the actual dye manufacturers (Leatherique, Leather World Tech, etc.) are actually on originally black seats. I'm not 100% on the science behind it, but from what I gather, the way the dye works is it bonds to the existing dye, as opposed to simply covering it up. Hope that helps, but I could try to elaborate further if that didn't make complete sense :/
