Is making ski port hole worth it?

Is making ski port hole worth it? Will it add much more bass?

Absolutely! You have much more air-flow that way which will increase the excursion of your sub and give you much more overall volume.

Why not just put the seats down when you're in the mood for more bass?

I am more talking about the decreasing value of the car if you saw a hole in it. How many dB will it add realistically? My seats are not fold down.

FWIW, I do notice a big difference when my ski arm rest is up as opposed to being down. When down, I get the lowed alot more pronounced. I have my system crossed over correctly as well with a large 12" and some good juice getting to it. I dunno if its worth it to put the actual hole in though. Could be a structural thing too

Pointless considering that the subwoofers are located under the front seats. Unless there is an aftermarket setup with the subs in the trunk - in which case the answer is quite obvious.

We are talking about trunk subwoofers here.

This was not mentioned in the original post. The answer then would be yes. Lowering the seatbacks would help even more.

You think he wants to saw a hole in his trunk for woofers under the seat?

You'd be surprised how many people do not know much about the cars they drive. Like I said, the original post had no details of the poster's set up - would it have been so wrong to assume that his was stock?

A litttttle bit.

But no big deal.

You should get a decent amount more base in the cabin IMHO. I think the key will be to cut it, reupholster it, and never let anybody else know it exists. I dont see the next owner poking at the back of the trunk.

Or sew on a custom bag and pretend its a ski pass through.

How do you reupholster it?

A little detective work called reading his sig lead me to believe that he's running 2 RF P3's.

Last time I checked there's no way a P3's gonna fit under the seat. My SWS-8's barely fit! lol

Just find a shop who does upholstery. Plenty of them around. They should be able to throw some foam or something to keep its shape and just lay some stock colored fabric to cover the back up.
