The windshield wiper settings..It's either fast, or super fast. I want intermittent wipers. The automatic wipers seem fine, until I get behind a truck and then it goes insane. I don't think the scroll thing has a purpose either.

Having to reprogram a car when changing out a light bulb to something else.

The stereo isn't loud enough.

Oil that can never be found in any store (diesel). No exhaust choices because of retarded emission requirements.

For MY 2007+ on euro markets, the 330i has a 268hp 320Nm engine (from the 255-300nm of the 2006 model). The 335 still enjoys a healthy advantage in torque, but the gap is small in raw power.

THIS! I also hate the cheap cup holders. Cool concept but I wish it wasn't as flimsy.

I just noticed the complaints a couple pages back about the orange gauges. That's surprising. They aren't showy; definitely no "wow" factor to them, but the orange lighting is about as easy on the eyes at night as you can get.

I love my car but I hate the fact that the water pump can just go out anywhere at anytime and you're just shit out of luck. Really disappointing design just like the turbos with their "normal rattle" that eventually turns into wastegate rattle and ruins the turbos.

Confuses me how there is such poor designs on such expensive cars, like they just try new shit out on the unsuspecting public

Hiding the LED of the steering wheel warmer and rain-sensor wipers behind the actual steering wheel. What idiot thought that was A Good Idea? Why is this not a light on the DIC?

The position of the window buttons.

No way to turn off HVAC other than hitting the "fan down" button multiple times.

No spare. Run flats are harsh (which I dont mind) but grip is iffy.

Wipers do not continue their sweep after shutting off engine but not holding in the button long enough to stop courtesy mode. (press button once briefly and engine stops but radio and junk works; in this mode the wipers should continue but they dont.)

Only half the exterior lights were LED?! (stock side markers, halos, tail brake lights are halogen and not LED, but turn signals front and back are -- uhh why?)

Weird valve ticking on startup, but it goes away when things warm up and I'm told it's normal.

Sirius antenna STINKS. Either that, or the Forward Error Correcting code in the radio is the culprit. Every overpass I drive under, I lose satellite radio for a second. Every. Goddamn. One.

Door sills get dirty in every rain storm.

No sunglasses holder.

No 12v outlets.

USB/iPhone adapter cable is too short to be plugged in AND look at it (though this might be by design).

No audio playing via Bluetooth.

Slow startup of NAV system, even with my 2009 LCI model with the harddrive in the dash (I feel bad for you dvd nav guys, it must be effing intolerable)

AT is very searchy; sometimes when you blip the gas it feels like it doesnt know which gear it wants to be in. Occasionally it doesnt downshift even when hitting the throttle moderately hard.

No HVAC vent-only operation. Meaning, I can't just "open the vent" and let the natural air pressure bring fresh air in; only if I put the fan on at least the lowest setting.

Other than these relatively minor things, hot damn I love driving my 335xi

Amber lighting is a BMW hallmark and was specifically selected as the gauge color decades ago for the reason you mentioned. IMO if you have an issue with BMW's dash light color then you really shouldn't own one.

I suspect that that may not be "cheapness" but an artifact of whatever low- or no-VOC paint that BMW is now using; until the formulations/application methods improve, I suspect the only way to not have orange peel is going to be the traditional route of letting your new car's paint fully harden, then going the wash/clay/colorsand/polish/wax route. It is kinda scary on a "nice" car though.

Is it just me or is the windshield really "soft". Every grain of sand seems to leave a mark.

Haha, you're right about the doors. It's impossible to fully open the door when you're in a busy parking lot. It's still worth it to own a coupe though.

THAT is the truth. I just drove the '02 GTI 1.8T that I bought new (it's my mom's now) earlier today because my dad had dropped it off to have the winter tires swapped on (why he hadn't asked me to bring a breaker bar and torque wrench with me, I don't know) and in sharp contrast to the joy that it was picking it up new where I thought it was so nice to have a real, civilized car with all that ludicrous torque, I suddenly had tons of ergonomic complaints compared to my 335i (and I still have a few quibbles with that car, but still, a little perspective makes me love it more) and, well, compared to a 335i running a Cobb Stg1 aggressive map it feels kind of slow.

Driving a "normal" car is simply painful.

My dad still won't let me drive his old hot rod Chevy pickup though. That's fun of a completely different kind, and I miss old, simple sleds that make all the right noises and feel like "pure machine" even if they aren't as fast. I'm a little bitter as I did most of the work on the first refresh of it back when I was in high school, but then again, if it were mine, I probably wouldn't let anyone else drive it either. It is kind of awesome to have a dad with a 40 year old DD too
