Lowering your 335 in NYC
Hoe do you guys feel about lowering your 335 and driving on these hellish roads in NYC?
I drive to NYC 5 days a week (I know every pothole on the way in and out) I want to add some H&R sports, spacers and keep the 189 wheels.. Anyone think I'll really hate it? Anyone done it on a daily usage car? |

It shouldn't be that bad. But yeah, whitestone takes the cake for some f'ed up raods, its like nothing is level over there. As long as you know where potholes are and can see them coming, you should be perfectly fine. I had my old DD dropped pretty low, the ride was harsh, but for me i didn't really care till like 4yrs after i put the springs on. thats when it got old and i was ready for a new car anyway.

a good set of coilovers will achieve both good ride quality and a good drop, something like KW, Bilstein, or Koni, or even Tein. but yea most people dont do it around here cuz the pothole sucks and the roads are horrible.

I have to agree that coil overs are the awesome.... but ride quality usually goes down not up. I have been in my share of cars with coil overs. You gain a tremendous amount of handling but ride quality goes down. Its like a give and take.
