Anyone tried the latest firmware 31.4?

Anyone tried Terry's latest firmware 31.4 with the new spool up logic?
Sounds the goods! It holds PWM at 100% until boost is 3psi from target, it should get the N54 up and moving fast!!!!!!

Just updated, will let you know tommorrow when I drive to work.

I found with 31.1, it improved throttle response with the new wastegate duty cycle logic and having a full linear throttle mapping (menu 11), however my car is currently also experiencing random jerkyness during moderate throttle.

Most noticable at take off from the traffic lights (0 to xxxkm/h), if I use ~30-40% then 1/2 of the time the car seem to jerk around as it pulls to (and sometimes past ) the speed limit. While this jerkyness is happening you can hear the induction sound changes note too...

Doesn't seem to happen if I granny foot it (like all those granny Camry right lane hogs) or if I just floor it, also doesn't really seem to happen during roll on acceleration when I'm already doing 60km/h+.

Being playing around with Menu 11 and 12 to see if I can find some cure, but so far no real luck, setting Menu 12 down to 2k (I had it at 2.7k before for the old FW) seem to ease it up somewhat but still jerky compared to the old FW I had before.

Might go a post a log on THE OTHER FORUM to see if they can offer any suggestions, feels almost like my tranmission is screwing around because of the added throttle respone...

I have heard a few people having jerkiness issues, im sure there will be an easy resolution. Isn't default meant to be 2800 on menu 12 for the latest firmware??

I've experienced the same jerkiness with the latest firmware - basically I drive around with a feather foot right now for the most smoothest operation. Will play around with the settings further

Updated to 31.4 from 31.1, menu 12 at 2.2k (menu 10 at 3.5k and 11 at 2k, but I don't think these 2 setting matters) seem to have fixed most of my jerky issues, 2.4k also worked (at fixing most of the jerkyness), but car kept on jumping to map 4 everytime I wot, while menu 12 = 2.8k (default) would just throw a CEL light even at moderate throttle.

Think those were caused by over boosting due to the new agressive boost control logic and my worn out (very rattlely) wastages.

EDIT: Just took the long way home from work and did a couple of WOT/hard pulls near standing still and man I was breaking traction completely in 2nd and even 3rd I was still paritially going side ways...

But no more CEL or JB4 jumping to map 4 by itself and most jerkness seem to have being removed (still felt one here and there) but I think those where caused by my auto transmission.

Apart from the jerkiness, do you notice any difference with launching your car from a standing start? Does it boost up faster compared to older firmware?

Definitely boosts up faster than previous.

I updated to 31.4 with menu 12 @ 2400 and everything is back to normal again. No more jerky acceleration and overboosting anymore

Im not keen on installing the latest firmware if im going to have major issues with codes & map4 (hate map4 lol), its taken me months to iron out all the bugs and get my car running 100%.

Glad you got your's soughted out without major complications!

I just took my R33 out for its weekly trash around and dare I say it...

The analog (throttle cable) throttle system felt way more smooth at light/moderate acceleratoin than the drive by wire E90 ever felt, no matter what combinations of menu 10,11 and 12 I used.

But yeah the car was noticably slower as well... LOL

What settings for menu 11 (throttle mapping) are you guys using?

I currently left mine at 2k, used 5k (full linear) for a bit but I found it made the car way to sensitive.

Yeah im not the biggest fan of drive by wire cars, i like to have some sought of mechanical device attached from the pedal to the throttle body/carby, the car has more spirit!
