Place for mounting tires...

I am putting my winters on next week.
Recommendation for reputable and affordable, reasonable tire mounting shop?
So far, I got quote $80 for a set.

Costco.

I think it's $30 a set unless they've changed the price? They do a very professional job too.

Except he lives in Vancouver.

Don't think the gas would be worth it.

Oops, didn't catch that. Looks like I wasn't the only one though.

You have to have bought your tires at Costco though.

I wouldn't let Costco anywhere near my tires, nor the car. Save a penny, but lose a dollar.

I've had less trouble at Costco than at the local tire store. Costco is kind of like McDonalds - not great but they have very detailed procedure manuals that employees MUST follow every time, and Costco pays better than most garages pay peon/slaves. Guys working there don't compare to an experienced professional, but are often betteer then the long-haired teenager at the indipendant shops.

My local tire place was good, until the young guy who used to mount tires got promoted to behind the desk and was replaced with a brain-dead moron. Had problems innext 2 visits after the promotion, haven't been back since.
