Standard Xenons with Lux Angel Eyes

Hi guys, I have standard xenon headlights on my E92 and would like to add the Lux angel eyes. What I don't want is the angel eyes to make the standard xenons look yellowish. Has anyone got any pics of standard xenons with lux angel eyes? Would you recommend changing the temperature of the standard lights after the upgrade or does it look good?

All replies appreciated,

H

I have xenons on my 335d and the angel eyes are soooo bright I wouldn;'t think an LED upgrade was worth it. If anything it wouldn;t be as good as stock. I had a 135i with xenons and the angel eyes are yellow on that and I got the LUX V3 LED upgrade for that and they were awesome.

Thanks for this mate, I have a pre LCI so the angel eyes as standard are quite yellow compared to the xenon headlights. On your 135i did the Lux eyes provide a similar colour and brightness to your standard xenons??

Thanks again

We have tons of pictures in our for sale thread and also on our website. We have found that the LUX H8 V3 angel eyes are almost a perfect color match to the stock xenon headlights

Are the outside rings lit up as well as the inner rings with the Lux bulbs?
Once I've picked up my car an angel eye upgrade will be one of the first things I do.

Are the Lux bulbs really worth it over others out there, after all £200 is a lot of money for bulbs!

I have the LUX ones on my x5, I also brought the new 4led non lux lights for my mrs 335 (alot cheaper then lux) the Lux ones def light the outer ring more but for the extra cost of them i'm not sure their worth the extra 100 quid!

OK after looking at my lights I am starting to see the appeal of these. The Xenons are a lovely bright blue colour and the rings are a sickly yellow at present.

Do these bulb upgrades cause any errors on the computer\dash? Also is this a relatively easy straight swap or do you need to take the light clusters apart? This is on a pre-lci with Xenons.

I'm unsure on the fitting side of things but most come plug and play and do not bring up any errors.

We have dome some comparison between other brands out there and the LUX H8 V3 is by far the brightest ones out there at the moment. They do a great job at lighting both inner and outer angel eyes almost equally.

I'm a tad confused - what's the difference with these GP Thunder's then? And why are they so much cheaper than the above options?:

Well I'm not usually one for rash purchases but the BMS led lights were pretty cheap so I've ordered a set for my E93. I should hopefully have them by the weekend so I'll wack them on and let you guys know how I get on.

Oh and I was perfectly happy with my yellow rings until I saw all the countless angel eye threads so you lot have cost me £100.

No disrespect intended here as you're a forum sponsor but :

"LUX H8 version 3.0 are priced at $245.00 a set
Other International orders will Ship USPS Priority Mail – $40"

That's $285 or £184 to us on this side of the pond. That's an awful lot more cost than the BMS option for, as I see it from pics, not a huge gain.

I know we could argue the pros and cons of both till the cows come home, but it's about value for money given the current economic climate.

Just my humble opinion, it doesn't necessarily reflect what others think.. and no, I don't have any link to the BMS supplier, other H8 LED lamps are available.

Update, my OH has just called and the BMS LED's have arrived already! That was quick, I only ordered them yesterday. So guess what I'll be doing this evening assuming it doesn't rain of course.

On a E93 with Xenons, I assume it's just a case of popping the hood, removing the old bulbs and popping in the new ones?

Yep, connect the ballast and gently ease the bulb in, you'll have to wiggle it a little, allowing the back end to drop slightly below the opening then push it in, twist and connect, sit back and admire...

Have a look here mate: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=647073

Plenty of photos and even a video.

I couldn't justify the cost difference either and went for these. I agree that the outside halos aren't as bright, but they're a definite improvement over the yellow bulb look.
