euro LL04 oil

Discovered yesterday that Carquest parts stores carry their own brand "Carquest" euro 5w-40 synthetic oil which meets LL04 specs. Sells for approx. $50.00 (Cad.$) for a 5 litre jug. I suspect that this is a Pennzoil product (Shell). Sure it is less expensive at U.S. Carquest locations.
FYI.

why buy no name brand if you can buy a Motul X-Clean LL04 for $40 (5L jug), taxes all in @ Igarage up in Markham.

From what I have read, your Motul x clean is BMW LL04 for diesel only.
Interesting that you can buy it for $35.53 plus tax. Best price I have noted was $45.61 plus $4.20 premium for 5w-40 from a US supplier.

I believe Carquest oil is made by Ashlund who also makes Valvoline. I don't see a problem using it. What do you think the quick-lube places are using in your car?

^ I never use any quick lube place.

I buy my own oil and use oem oil filter. pay $25 for labor and go to either RMP or my current mechanic to do the change.

Actually no. It's been $40 taxes in for the last 3 years @ IGarage. The owner, Ivan said the price may be going up in the Spring, but he does not know how much.

Speedstar, Nextmod, etc. cannot match IGarage price.

It's cheap but how much you paid for gas to go there.

Not much, probably $0.25 since I had to drive past that location on another errand. Also bought sufficient for the next three changes. Should also note that the regular price is $39.95. Sure beats having to drive to Markham.
