I did the same thing, and loved them. Better price, and a better tire than the DW.

This for some reason is such a touchy subject for me. Everyone has their opinions on tires. Even with the facts in front of us in writing, it still doesn't give us the actual feel and experience of specific tires. All we can do is ask, search all you want but it can't hurt to beat the dead horse again lol..

I am in need of tires myself. Right now I have winter tires on so I have to find something soon for Spring mounting.

I just looked at discount tire.
I am leaning toward the Hankook and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Both Non Run Flats.
My biggest question/concern/curiosity is others opinions on ditching the run flats and going with regular tires. Some said no but most say get rid of them.
Personally I hate the run flats, so loud, shitty wear, and heavy ass tires.
I do however like the room in the trunk. I keep nothing in there, nice and clean.
So I am willing to put a spare in there or a tire plug kit and air compressor. Worse case I'll need a tow truck.

Is going with non run flats worth all of that??
Is it that much of a difference in ride?
I heard the newer run flats ride just as comfortable as non run flats now.
I have the OEM Bridgestone 050

Idk where you're located but a guy in Queens, NY is hooking me up with a set of 4 Continental EC DW's for 650 picked up. Originally about 900.

If interested pm me and I'll give you contact Info. He also has access to Michelin pilot super sports for like 1,000.00 for a set of 4.

Count me in the Michelin fanboy club. Ran PS's and then PS2's on my 5 series when I lived in Germany, loved them Tried some Goodyears and Yokahama's on my E36, switched back to the PS2 (PSS's weren't out yet) and wow, what a difference. The 335 came with the Bridgestone RFT's and thankfully they wore out/ got too many punctures ( construction in my neighborhood ) and I switched over to the PS2 ZP's, been happy with them so far, I think they actually have better steering response than the normal PS2, which makes sense with the stiffer sidewalls. Also they don't make that god-awful Clomp sound when they hit expansion joints like the Bridgestones did.

Out've all of those..kumho's are pretty sweet. Bridgestone's are most common. All tires mentioned are great tires though.

Daily Driver

I drive a 2012 E92 335i and it just a daily driver. I do not track the car, she is simply my cruiser. I live here in Houston and its mostly hot summers and mild winters. From what I read in this thread, the Contis and Michelin seem to be the top picks. With that said, I'm assuming either would be adequate for a daily driver?

yes to all. My runflats wore out after 20K+ miles and I immediately installed regular Hankooks. I am on my second set since I got larger wheels, but sold the first set with wheels to a forum member and the tread still looked like it had another 10-15K above the already 25K miles that I rode on them. Hankooks are an up and coming brand that had sponsorship in some Euro manufacturers' (BMW/M-B/Audi) series races, and the best bang for the performance buck.

I also have the Conti DWS as my winter setup because we don't experience that much snow and ice in my neck of the woods.

Both are non-rft...BMW assist, AAA, insurance, friends...and a cell phone is all I need if I have a flat...and my trunk is empty enough to take my golf bag.

I would go with either (DW or DWS) for DD and price, Michelin P SS for pure summer use, or even the Hankooks for best value (for the price of one Michelin, I could buy two Hankooks and not have to worry about drifting the tires since they are so inexpensive).

So either of those are great choices for DD? I am more concerned with road noise, drive comfort and longevity. I don't track the car or drive it aggressively so tire grip isn't that big of a concern. Houston summers last 9/12 months out of the year and winters just result in cooler temps and little precipitation.

Out of the 4 you picked I would go with the Kumho's.

Dunlop Dz101 sucks big time. Low Grip when cool and horrible in the rain...... PSS, F1's and above.
