Can I get Sirius with just a new headunit?

Hey guys

I have a pre lci car with no Sirius now and I would like to get it. I have seen some headunits for sale on eBay with the Sirius logo on them. If I buy that unit do I still need to buy that Sirius module or will it work with just the headunit?

Thanks
Scott

Sirius tuner is built-in in the OEM HU. No need of an external tuner. You will need to run an extension Sirius antenna cable from the trunk to the back of the new OEM HU.

You will need the activation code to enable Sirius. Contact forum vendor BimmerTech for the codes and loading cost and details.

Some earlier years require an add on tuner and coding, I did this on my 2009, buy the tuner used it is silly from the dealer! Tuner may go under trunk floor or behind side panel where cd changer goes depending on year/model. I had to order the "installation kit" from Tischer which consisted of the bracket, fan, and some screws. You will also have to rearrange the fibers at the MOST connector behind the driver's side rear seat bolster. I have several versions of the install instructions saved on my pc as it took me several tries to find the right one for my car.
