Here's a link to the Washington State license plate law:
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.16.240 Here's the text: The vehicle license number plates shall be attached conspicuously at the front and rear of each vehicle for which the same are issued and in such a manner that they can be plainly seen and read at all times. However, if only one license number plate is legally issued for any vehicle such plate shall be conspicuously attached to the rear of such vehicle. Each vehicle license number plate shall be placed or hung in a horizontal position at a distance of not more than four feet from the ground and shall be kept clean so as to be plainly seen and read at all times. In cases where the body construction of the vehicle is such that compliance with this section is impossible, permission to deviate therefrom may be granted by the state patrol. It shall be unlawful to display upon the front or rear of any vehicle, vehicle license number plate or plates other than those furnished by the director for such vehicle or to display upon any vehicle any vehicle license number plate or plates which have been in any manner changed, altered, disfigured or have become illegible. License plate frames may be used on vehicle license number plates only if the frames do not obscure license tabs or identifying letters or numbers on the plates and the plates can be plainly seen and read at all times. It is unlawful to use any holders, frames, or any materials that in any manner change, alter, or make the vehicle license number plates illegible. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle unless there shall be displayed thereon valid vehicle license number plates attached as herein provided. We should work to get the law changed. |

Got a parking ticket on Occidental in Seattle last week due to expired meter time.....$36
The "meter bitches" at the same time tagged me for no front plates as well......$38 fine. The city and state is short on money so they are going to get ya when they can. I remember the time when expired meter fine was $12!!!

I've never hesitated in pulling someone over just because they have a nice car (way to generalize ). You probably don't see a lambo pulled over b/c you rarely see them on the road.

my other friend also says when he drive his '90 car, he more likely to get pulled over rather than when he use his better car.

I'm sure we'd all like to hear your input. Would you pull someone over just for not having a front plate? Or, if pulling them over for some other offense, would you throw on a no front plate ticket as well? State Patrol in Thurston County are ticket happy, every day of the week they are waiting somewhere with their lidar laser guns, I know they have lazed me...and seen that I have no front plate...haven't been pulled over for it yet. |

Copying my post from BF.c.
Bottom line, LE is really cracking down on offenders, and excuses (and I mean even really, REALLY GOOD excuses) don't fly. Quote:

I just figured for $55 and no worry about drilling holes/easy removal for shows that the tow hook bracket is very worth it!

No, but it looks like they have a solution for your A4 (assuming this is what you're looking for!).
