Windshield Washer Pump failures?

This might not be exactly 335D related, but as I am putting the car back together after the CBU cleaning, it looks like I have found another problem the dealer could not.

The lower fitting on the washer pump, which bolts to the cooling fan housing, leaks. We reported the disappearance of many gallons of fluid, but the dealer never was able to find anything .... clearly because they never looked. If the dealer had bothered to take the lower valance off, he would have found both the leaking boost hose and the leaking washer pump. It seems likely these would have been addressed under the warranty.

More bad faith behavior from BMW? Hard to say at this point.

So, has anybody else gone through washer fluid at 1 gallon per 1000 miles?
If so, I know what is going on. (Hey, methanol sprayer guys: no snide comments about alternate uses of washer fluid!)

Thanks.

I go through washer fluid like it's going out of style. The leak is from the drivers side headlight washer. I've had this problem since I got my car 3 years ago, but I have yet to bother to fix it.

There is a pump in the bottle which I have had go bad and caused a leak. I don't have whatever that pump is that you're referring to though, must be headlight washer specific

I've had a washer fluid leak since I got the car, almost a year ago now. After the dealer 'fixed' it I got in and saw the red triangle. Who gives a car back with low washer fluid or any warning light for that matter?

Just another reason that Rick Coleman and Yark BMW suck.

I think that when people put water in their system instead of ww fluid the pump freezes and cracks.
