Depends on the buld date mate. Sep 11 is the cutoff. Look under your bonnet.

Tonight's job after getting home was relocate the OBD port. Easy done and fingers crossed if mine gets tried they'll soon piss off when they remove the cover and there's nothing there to plug into. Surprising how long that piece of the loom is.

Thanks for the info fulcrum

Just relocated mine too. Very easy and im hoping it will put potential thieves off when they connect to a dummy OBD.

Thinking of adding a 120db siren (in makkan's sticky) as well.

Should be on a sticker on the underside of the bonnet, middle towards the front catch - that's where mine is and clearly says "Build date XXXX" or words to that effect.

Phone the number and ask? But unlikely given cars > Aug 2011 are not affected.

This new fix from BMW got me thinking. My E90 is 2009 plate but I now have a new ECU since the performance pack was fitted. Interesting enought my hand held ECU fault reader no longer is able to read the fault codes while before hand it worked fine on the original ecu. I wonder ????

just phoned up the number and joined the list.

An after thought. I presume that all global bmws have the same software/hardware and key systems. Is bmw going to mention this in other countries? Not seen anything in the US or europe section.
