What's with the stock car dyno'ing @ 228.7WHP? Stock 335i's typically dyno @ ~ 260-275WHP. Even if this was done on a Mustang dyno, it's way too low. Also, why is it a "Stage 1" flash? What other mods did the 335i have for this stage 1? In any account, I agree with the others who say that +40WHP and + 27 lb-ft TQ is not so good; it's like the SSTT or worse.
Please read the original post. The vehicle is stock with no mods.

Every dyno is different, it just happened on that particular day and on that dyno, those were the numbers. Again, it's the delta we are after, not just numbers.

In addition, what "stage" would this flash be to run 15psi...stage, 2 stage 3, stage 4, and what other mods would be required????
No other mods are required, but some mods will be reocommened to see the results of the stage 2 and 3 when they are ready.

An intercooler would be a great addition as you can see on our back to back dyno on the stage 1, we saw a power loss from heat soaking.

The dyno is a heartbreaker..... 228whp stock is very, very low, hence the lower tuned numbers.

what has me confiused is the fact that the car made so little hp yet still great torque...on stock pull..normally don't these cars make similar hp/tq in stock trim?

Dyno was done on LET Motorsport's 135i with intake, Code3IC, DP's, and exhaust.

I will have more info later this week. We have always done road / track / dyno tuning for all of ours flashes, but our track season hasn't started yet, so we still have some tuning to do at the track in April.

The car is rock solid at 14.5 PSI and makes 37x WHP and anywhere from 39x to 41x WTRQ during our sessions. After 2 hours of solid tuning on the dyno, the 135 put down 374Whp / 399Wtrq run after run. Allowing a few minutes between runs yields the same Whp numbers, but >400Wtrq.

We are not using an oil cooler, but one is highly recommended. Code3 Performance will be sending us one soon and we expect that it will help.

BMW hasn't made it easy for us. There are so many changes from MSD80 to MSD81 and from one software version to the next. Each one needs to be tested and adjusted accordingly.

These numbers were made using 93 octane pump gas with no oil cooler.

Also I hear that Flashes control other areas of the car including waterpumps etc...Is this true for the LET flash as well?

I am more concerned with proper tuning over higher peak HP numbers.

Yes, the water pump speed is increased to aid engine cooling.

Question

(New Guy) Thats Me!!!

Does anyone know of a flash for the 2008 e92 328i?
Dinan was supposededly working on one, but I believe the Idea has been halted. There has to be something other than exhaust, and cold air intaketo boost it a measely 8-10HP.

I am new, but..... Before I get a ton of you guys and girls saying, I should have gotten a 335i, I will say that I could not afford the insurance of a 335!
It would have been like making a house note.

Any takers on this question?

Thanks respectfully

B

I haven't read any inclination of a performance flash for non-turbo 3 series. And if your insurance for a 335 is as much as a house note - wow you need to stop getting tickets/accidents
